Question for the wheel gurus.

I found a set of wheels I really like only thing is I'm not sure they'll fit properly or even clear the brembos. They are 19x9.5 with 40mm offset in the front and 20x10.5 with 42mm offset in the rear. Will these fit without issue and still being able to run a wider tire (275 or 285) in the rear?

Those rear wheels are enormous.

To answer your question, the rears won't be a problem but I'm concerned about the fronts. Not sure the offset is large enough. Aren't the Brembo wheels a 42mm offset? I could be wrong.

If these wheels do fit then you could run 275's up front and up to 315's in the rear but the rears will stick out of the wheel wells a decent amount because of the 10.5" size.

I'll also ask, what brand and model?

I'm running 19x19.5 with a 42 offset all around. 255 40 front 285 35 rear. Enkei GTC-01 with Conti Extreme and a FRPP 1 inch drop. No probs rubbing but those 10.5 are going to stick pretty far out.

The wheels are petrol vengeance wheels that were redrilled in 5x114. I'm mostly concerned with the fronts clearing the brakes. I've seen guys with 10.5' in the rears and they didn't stick out too much but I don't recall the offset. But the offset in the rear is 42mm which is the same as stock so the rim of the wheel alone would stick out 1.5 further than the stock not including the tires which will def be wider than the stock 255's.

I think they'll fit just fine.

I looked up rims for Brembo-package 2011 Mustang GT on tirerack.com and they list rims in the range you mention above, both width and offset should fit just fine, front and rear.

tire sizing

I just fell right in to a nice set of bullit wheels for my 2012 Gt,
fronts are 18x9,,rear are 18x10
If i reuse the 235/50/18 pirellis on front only
then what size tires can i use on rear.
Ive noticed alot of staggered setups look kinda strange in back bcause even though back tire is bigger-the sidewall looks to me a lil shorter.
The look i want is the sidewall on rears to be same sidewall height or maybe a lil bigger than the fronts. definitely not smaller.
i appreciate your suggestions

You have two options.

Reuse those Pirelli's and go to a larger diameter rear tire with a smaller sidewall. Due to the 235/50 front size, you have almost zero options of going to say a 260/60. It's not logical.

Your best option is to buy 4 new tires. For those rim sizes, I'd go with 255/35/18 up front and 285/35/18 in the rear.

My choice on tires would be Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

im thinking 245/45/18...because the front 235/50/18 will b stretchd a lil on the 9" front wheels running these on back with the 18x10 will fit decent and car should sit as level as it did when it was built ..
guys and gals will this work ?
no more than i drive it heck why not try it ,,this will free up some money for exhaust and tune ,,and lol if i dont like the tire combo ,,ill smok em to the wires
