Question regarding fill-ups on my 2011
Also on the capless filler, you need to be careful about trying to top off the tank or you'll be leaving a trail of gas behind you when you leave the pump. Quite a few reports of spillage after filling. Gas costs enough as it is to be spilling any out on the ground would suck.
I have noticed this as well, 19 mi to empty and only took 13.2 gals. The MPG figures are off also. Mine seems to report about 1 MPG below what I get whne figuring it manually. I mii the 05 for it's accuracy, was always +/- 1/10 on MPG and the same
on the gals used ( missing from the 11)

My 2010 is the same -- seems like "50 miles to empty" realy means "50 miles to 2 gallons left"
Note of caution about the fuel filler -- it seems there is an air gap or overflow behind the area where the nozzle goes in. I found this out when I had a little bit of gas left in a gas can and wanted to put it in the car; the nozzle on the gas can wasn't small enough in diameter to go way down into the filler; when I tried to pour the gas in it spilled out underneath the car. (not out the top)

Makes Sense
I usually fill up right at the 50 mile to E mark and have been right around the 13 gal mark. All this talk just confirms my initial thoughts, that we've got that "buffer" to keep us from really running dry. The fuel gauge is a little more accurate, but still good to fill up early than find out the hard way how far your car can go.
