Question from a new guy...

Haha agree with that statement
I drive mine everyday taking the most random routes to get home. Rain or shine. Just a combination of quick and full details and she'll stay looking beautiful for years to come. When she gets to 50k hopefully I have a place to keep her comfy.

Mine is a garage queen too. Friends give me sh*t about it, but then my car always looks the best of all of theirs.....muahahahaha (evil laugh).
But seriously, all you need for a garage queen is a battery tenderer, and change oil twice a year with full synthetic. I put about 2k miles a year on mine only.

My fantasy was to own a GT500 and drive it. I was concerned about the day to day drivability of a 550hp car. Thinking about a big engine coughing and spitting, the car shaking and bucking, managing a clutch that gives you shine splints, it's exhausting.
Not todays cars.
I'm shocked how drivable this car is. Other than the rumble from the exhaust, this car can be driven without the awareness of the power within. My wife drives the GT500 when it's available. She just drives it, but she has no desire to push it. Since the clutch, the shifter, the smoothness of the engine is so civilized, it's easy to be driven as a daily driver.
When I first got the car, I was a little imtimidated by it. It was agressive looking, the sound was intoxicating, and I never drove a car with anywhere near 550 hp before. But it can be driven like it's civilized, or a beast, which I think is amazing.
I leased my car. This forces me to drive it, not garage it. Even though it's a lease, I take better car of this car than all of my others, because it's a thrill and a hobby. I don't want a mark on my car, but I don't suffer the anxiety of dings and scratches or putting the miles on like some owners, because for me it's use it or lose it.
I'll turn in my GT500 with 39,000 exciting miles on it. Buy the latest and greatest SVT in 2015, or maybe somebody's deaply depreciated garage queen with 6000 miles on it.
And start driving it all over again.

It will be your Mustang, bought with your money....enjoy it in the way you enjoy it the most, whether that means a daily driver or an occasional driver! There is no right or wrong when your hard earned cash and your decision is in control!

Just found out today that I'll be driving my 2012 GT (my one and only Mustang) daily for awhile after all. Couldn't happen at a worse time of year.Turns out my nephew's POS Hyundai bit the dust (catcon & something else broke, cost more than car is worth to fix) and he needs a cheap car fast. I don't want to let go of my beater Corolla right now in the dead of winter, but the kid (he's 21 & delivers pizzas) is in a tight spot & his mom & dad can't help him right now.
Funny, just commented to my daughter while driving the yota Friday night that it'd be a great pizza delivery car: reliable but no cosmetic worries, and is fun (for what it is) & cheap to drive. Could be worse I guess - at least I'm not the one delivering pizzas in it!
So I guess I'll be on the lookout for another $1500 - 2500 toyota corolla this week. I figure I'm familiar with them having done extensive work on my present one. Cheap & easy to work on.... :-(
