Question for 2013 5.0 Auto guys
How do you like the paddle shift? I love my tuned 12'automatic but that paddle shift sounds awesome if it's not quirky. I may have to take a test drive if it's worth a try.
I'm confused. I honestly thought the 2013 automatics had the ability to function entirely as a manual as well. That's what I heard over yonder!
This was honestly fascinating to me. Well I'm afraid to ask now.

I have a Mercedes that has this type of automatic, accept instead of a little button you bump the shifter to the left or right to shift which seems like a more natural interaction. I think the little button would be a little tricky and weird for me.
My Mercedes isn't a performance car so I've only used the feature a couple of times out of pure novelty. I'm sure in a stang it would get more use.

Yeah I'd be for an SMG style gearbox, but the auto with software selector is still just an auto.
I guess not that there's anything wrong with it.
Next stang might have to be auto if its my daily year round driver and I want my wife to be able to drive it.

I think the SelectShift buttons are an OK compromise, but I'd really want the next-gen Stang to offer paddles (fixed to the column, not the wheel, please!!).....as well as an extra gate for the shifter.
My BMW 330i has the Steptronic autobox so I can push the lever to one side and play manually if I want........but the box is pretty good that I seldom do more than slide it into Sport mode, where it'll change down quicker and rev to the redline.
I'd definately go with this style of 'box on the '15

may be too late of an update to this thread... i used it last one month and first few days it was so bad to get acquainted with, but after that it is fun... i am enjoying it fully...
