Put on my winter wheels and tires
I put my winter wheels and tires on my '11 Brembo GT this weekend and think it looks pretty good so i took a few pics even though the car isn't very clean
I ran these last year and they were very good in the severe winter we had. They are 255/45 18 Nokian Hakkapeliitta R mounted on 2010 GT500 wheels. As you can see they have very little wear after 1 season. The wheel I pictured is one i scraped on a snow buried curb last year. I thought about ordering a new wheel but figured id probably just mess it up again anyway so battled my OCD didn't bother lol.

Good stuff. What kind of snowfall do you get? I'm not familiar with those tires... how are they in terms of driving in snow, over ice, in dry, noisy?, wet, etc...
I'm putting mine on some time in the next 2 weeks here. Xice Xi2's and a 17" Elbrus I06. 3rd season.

I live in Edmonton, Alberta. Last year we had more snow then I can remember getting in a while, several snowfalls of over 2 ft accumulation with temperatures as low as -35C. The roads are pretty much snow and ice from Dec. to March.
They ride pretty smooth but that may just be because of the higher sidewall as compared to the stock 19" Perrelli's. They are pretty quite when cruising either in the city or on the highway. Although you can hear a scrubbing sound when cornering due to the soft compound. They aren't nearly as soft as blizzacks though. I have no complaints about their dry pavement performance. They actually hook pretty good in the temps we're having currently, lows of -8 and highs in the +3C area. They really pick up a lot of small pebbles and throw them at the wheel wells though. It gets very loud in the spring when the snows melts. I would say they are great in the snow and good on glare ice. When on ice they don't grip like a studded tire. I only got stuck once last winter and that was due to overconfidence and picking a bad parking spot where the car ended up bottomed out with no hope of the wheels getting traction.
Your car looks good with those wheels.

I'll have to check those guys out. Were you happy with the process of getting the wheels? I've always had problems the times I've bought aftermarket wheels. Do you have tire pressure monitors installed in your winter wheels?

Linelock- I'll be getting those rims for my summer tires!
I have a new set of Blizzak's waiting to go onto my stock rims. Haven't mounted them yet, since it's still pretty warm here. I got WS60's, 245/50/18. The slightly larger than stock size should correct my speedo error.

Put mine on today. The def need to break in a bit. Super slippery in wet 45 degree weather here in Chicago.
Theyre squishy too. Makes me miss my pirellis.
255/45/18 blizzak lm-60 on 18x9 gt500 replicas.

I've got 215/65R17 Michelin X-Ice Xi2 on 17x7 MB Five X from DTD.
Pics are from last winter ... will be putting them on before Thanksgiving.
Went with the tallest stock tire size (V6 AT) as this car can use all the extra ground clearance it can get and narrower the better when it comes to snow tires !!
As I've already got a season on them I can say I'm real happy with my set up other than the clear coat areas on the wheels are already corroding.
Fully painted wheels are always the best bet for winter as clear coat just does not hold up as well but at the time it was all I could find for under $400/set delivered.
Will be getting them stripped & powdercoated satin black when I've got some extra $$.

Plus, turn off the TC and a Stang with snows on all four corners is more fun to drive on 2-4" of snow than it ever can be on dry pavement !!
Ok let me rephrase ... more fun without burning through a set of tires and beating the hell out of it at the same time ... and without exceeding speed limits (by much anyway) or breaking a bunch of other laws which you would surely need to do to have as much "fun" on dry pavement.
