Problem filling tank
Anyone have this issue, I went to fill up yesterday since I knew the weekly 10 cent jump would be coming soon, had a little below 3/4's of a tank...started filling and the pumped immediately clicked off and gas poured out the opening...tried taking nozzle out and reinserting but kept doing it..I gave up after getting a whole $1 in...well some of it made it in.

Have you tried some of the common fixes people have posted for this? Like twisting the gas pump nozzle 15-45 degrees left/right? It has worked for me multiple times and I only have to twist it like 10 degrees.
If that doesn't work, fill a gas can and transfer it into the tank until you get it to the shop to get fixed. That should work fine.

It's not the car sometimes, it's the pump/nozzle. This has happened to me a couple of times, but only on certain pumps, even ones at the same gas station. Never had mine into the dealer for the issue -- I just know to twist the nozzle a bit if it clicks off mid-fill.

Used to happen on my 2007, had to do the 45 degree dance to make it fill, but not the 2011, as yet. However, my wife fills at the same station and her '09 Passat started doing it. I am wondering if this isn't a problem associated with the auto off systems in the pumps, since she moved to another pump and it worked fine.

Happened on my 2007 Eclipse once. I told the gas station attendant and he didn't seem alarmed or anything, even tho there was like a puddle of gas under my car.

****, that's crazy that they still have that problem. I wouldn't have thought it'd be that hard to design a gas tank, but apparently I don't know ****. As mentioned try twisting the nozzle (although that's never worked for me). Also as mentioned, changing pumps (even at the same station) usually works for me.

I constantly had this problem with my 08... Sometimes I would have to do as others have and turn the nozzle 45* so I could fill it without clicking off.
I have not had this problem at all with my 2010.
