Price opinions
I have been bouncing between getting another 10 GT or simply biting the bullet and get a 11GT. There is only one local dealer with a grabber blue GT coupe within about a 100 miles of me, it has all the options I want plus a few I don't want, HIDs/security package and shaker 1000. The sticker price is $36,240 and I've been quoted an out the door price of $30480. A 2011 with the minimum options I want invoices at $32,752 taking the current incentives into account then the price is $31,502 plus tax, tag and fees plus the difference between invoice and what I actually would get. Is the deal on the 10 good enough to warrant skipping a 11 or go with a 11 and only get the options I want and nothing I don't?
Here's the window sticker for the 10 I am looking at:

I would say that I am kind of in the same spot and I keep saying I will just be happy with the 2010. And I could be for sure. When you do the math the way you are then just like I did, I figure I can be happy with the minimal options out of the 2011. Plus given my current situation I may not actually be ready until late so I am sure the 2010's will be sparse by then.
Just depends on your need to get the car. If you can hold off just hang on for the 2011, if you are in desperate need of a car, get the 2010 if it's a viable option.

I was in your shoes- looking at a '10 v the '11 I ordered on which the dealer installed a spoiler despite my insistence that they delete it. The '10 would have been $10k less, no joke. $27500 out the door for a '10 GT Premium Kona/Stone with 3.55s and security. Instead my wife talked me into just taking the '11 and trying to like the spoiler, then finding a new decklid if I can't be happy with it.

I was up in the air with a 2011 or 2010 GT, ultimatly price made me go with a 2010 GT. I can honestly tell you I am not the least bit sorry I didn't get the 5.0. It would be awsome, to have, don't get me wrong, but the 4.6L is just as much fun. I'm actually taking the long ways home and looking for excuses to drive.
You are saving like 8 grand off sticker because tax and all that **** is like close to two thousand dollars. If it were me I think i'd take the 2010, but that's just me.

Man... if you can wait.. go for the 5.0... not that the 2010 is a bad car. I could have saved $15,000 or so by going the 2010 route, but I've alreay got a 315 HP car so I felt a horizontal move was not worth $25,000, but a 100 HP jump WAS worth $40,000 (along with a warranty!!!!! and it's brand new.. my wife likes that idea) The warranty is the best part for me.

Im not the right person to ask. I traded a 2007 for a 2011 with identical options for $11,000 difference. Obviously Im biased.
Of course I took a check for the $17,500 (Trade + $500 Deposit) back and financed the full amount on 36 months @ 0%.

I'm completely happy with my 2010... Don't forget 0% financing on 2010 GT's too ...
Personally ... I hate the look of the HID's (too non-retro) ... but all the other options look good.
Unless you are the type of guy always going WOT and banging through the gears you wont' notice any difference between the 2010 and 2011. Now on those occasions when you do put the pedal to the medal .. .there will be an obvious difference.

If I had a 2010 I would be happy with it.
However, if I was in the market to buy a new car though (which I am) it would be no contest, the 5.0 for sure. Its just cool to have the first 5.0 Mustang in a long time. And, I'm a power junkie gotta have the extra HP!
Go 2011 5.0 and don't ever look back!

Well I just got off the phone with sales person from a some-what local dealer and he is quoting me $33,852.60 out the door on a job 2 order 2011 GT, MT, 401a, 18" polished aluminum rims, and comfort group. He claims this is $100 over his invoice plus $479 for tax, tag & fees, the price list in the sticky shows this being $521.60 over invoice but according to the ford partner website using the same number for tax, tag, and fee this is $56.40 under xplan. Do different dealers in different areas have different invoice costs? This price is still better than the price I was quoted at another dealer earlier today by about $309.90 and I think the figure he gave me was xplan out the door.

*Looking at the invoice for my 2010 it looks like tax, tag, and title were $614. That was the first car I ever purchased new and only my second time period, so I'm not familiar with what the average is for tax, tag, and title.

I believe in South Carolina sales tax on a car is capped at $300, that's what I paid on my Mach 1 and looking back at the invoice for my 10 it was $300 as well and the 10 was twice as much.
