I'm sure I'll get a few troll jabs but I don't have more details other than #8 may turn out to be another big black eye. I hope someone may chime in with more details but three in one dealership at once is no joke.

Good Lord, yet another, "I have a friend who knows a guy who has a friend who knows a lady whose husband has a friend that knows the sister of a woman who knows a guy who has a brother that writes the tunes for Ford, and he says there are stock cars blowing up. This is supposed to be hush hush, but for whatever reason, he told me of all people."

Sounds like something a tuner will say to his clients to calm their nerves

My neighbor's son is friends with a guy that works with a woman that used to be married to the brother-in-law of a mechanic at a GM dealership, and his old boss at the Dodge dealership told him that the owner of the Ford dealer in the next town over was trying to keep the fact quiet that they had 7 bone stock 5.0's that had lost a #8 cylinder, and that engineers from Ford had inspected them and determined that it was the MT-82 transmission that was causing it.

I forgot to add that he sent me the message with smoke signals and I was trying to translate it into Chinese so I could relay the info to Getrag by teletype, but the wind picked up and I'm not 100% sure if I got the entire message. There may be more. I'll update you when daylight comes and the breeze dies down.

I'm lost. What does this have to do with Popeye? Was spinach involved?

Some found that the problem with the #8s and the MT-82 was that someone inadvertently filled the engine and transmission with spinach instead of oil/fluid. Doh.

I am just waiting to see a post that a car busted #8 when the clutch failed to release as the grinding transmission locked him out of second during which time he could not hear the radio because of the transmission whine while he was easing away from a light headed for a shop....lol

Omg I laughed so hard. Too funny.

He was in the process of slowing down when he heard a groan from the cars front end causing him to miss the shift. Still leads back to user error!! LMFAO

There are people in the thread on S197 who are sticking up for Popeye and saying that he's reputable...
...but unless he's withholding information at this point, there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

More from Popeye

SPRINGFIELD FORD,,,,, 2 autos, one manual. All three cars were confirmed to be bone stock. One block is actually cracked. I don't care if you a holes believe it or not but it is very real. Job 2 cars are not showing up due to more fuel being added to that bank.
