My '10 V6 (MT) was disappointing for the first several thousand miles, but has been getting increasingly better. I'm at 13K now, haven't reset the MPG computer in several thousand miles, and it's up to 26.2 combined... which is pretty close to the same as what I figured with a calculator last time I did so. I'm probaby about 50/50 stop'n'go and 65-75 MPH highway for short stretches... so I'm happy. But I wasn't at first.

My '08 Fusion had an MPG a 'transformation' right about 3K miles where it went from like 22MPG to 28 quickly.

With that mileage you coulda had a V8.

Good to hear, Wannabe. It gives me hope for better with my GT. I only have a little over 2,000 miles on it in the first seven months of ownership due to a long, hard Midwest winter followed by $4 gas. A perfect storm - literally at times - to keep me out of my Mustang.

I get consistently 18mpg in the city, I drive and shift as conservatively as possible with the odd quick acceleration here or there.

When the tank is 95% strictly highway the best I've seen is 26mpg

Well heck, my '11 BMW R1200GS gets about 41MPG, I ride it like I stole it.
