PM picture of 2009 front clip (disguised).

Looks like Popular Mechanic's spy photogs (Jim Dunne?) snapped a pic of a current Stang with an '09 front clip, albeit under coverings. The presumably more recessed headlights might indicate the the '69 Stang might be the inspiration for the refresh, but kinda hard to tell under the camo.

First off, he claims we've never seen those wheels on a 'Stang, but they look like the normal V-6 wheels in chrome.

Secondly, those turn signals look HUGE.

Finally, I don't know where he's going with the headlights comment. Is the grille farther forward, or are the headlights mounted in the front wheel wells?

All that could just be a huge bra covering a V6'er with a new bumper cover, maybe for the next SE!!!

Yea, I think this is nothing more than a decoy. I sure hope so because I'm not into the way that front end looks.

Does anyone really think Ford wastes their time creating "decoy" bumpers and driving them around town? I don't think they really care that much.

To me it looks a lot different than the first spy shots we saw with that alloy GT, but it could just have more covering I guess.

yea the headlights dont change position, its the turn signals that move, the old signals were thinner and quite a bit above the center of the wheel...now they are larger and lower...now that i look...dont those look like the foose headlights?...round with the bumper surround on it and not a headlight housing?

Yeah. it's a photoshop. But, it could be accurate given the position of the turn signals on the mule.

To be honest, I prefer the front end predicted by Road & Track, especially the round turn signals.
