Plastic shield under center of undercarriage

Hello,

New here. Have a 2013 GT and have a plastic piece hanging down. It is almost in the center of the undercarriage, closer to the driver side. Any idea what it is called?
Picture attached.

Thanks in advance

My '13 GT doesn't have that.

Edit: I was wrong...I looked under my '13 again and it does have them. They just don't hang down like that so I missed them initially.

My 2013 V6 didn't have that, but it looks like a rock guard to prevent rocks and gravel from hitting parts under the car.

Doesn't look essential to me and I would personally remove it since it must rub often since its in the center of the car.

Unless you do a lot of dirt rally offroading with your Stang

That's an air diffuser to cut down cabin noise.

My '13 GT is a premium. Maybe it lacks it due to being a convertible.

My '10 convertible has those, mine actually has 2, and unlike yours mine are metal and also beat up like that. I want to remove them but not sure if I should or not. It looks like who ever had to car before me went over some high bumps or curbs or something. They're bent pretty bad. Ill see if I can get a pic in later when I get home.

Much rather settle for having those shields scrapped up over the undercarriage anytime, but never the less, I avoid speed bumps and curbs to begin with anyhow lol.
