Pirelli tires, are they worth it?
The other day I had a flat, found out that my tire isn't repairable and I need to replace my front tires. 2 Months ago I replaced the Pirelli nero zero all season tires and not sure what to get. Im tempted to buy 4 "summer" tires and just keep the Pirellis for as my "winter" tires. So my question is. What trues are

[QUOTE="lysingerjj;6972668"]The other day I had a flat, found out that my tire isn't repairable and I need to replace my front tires. 2 Months ago I replaced the Pirelli nero zero all season tires and not sure what to get. Im tempted to buy 4 "summer" tires and just keep the Pirellis for as my "winter" tires. So my question is. What tires are preferred for speed(1/4 mile)? I just don't know if I want to spend the $$ for pirellis again.

The Neros are average and don't have great tread life.
The P Zero summer tires I had on my 2012 BBP car were ok around corners but sucked in straight line. They made the wheelhop way worse.
Michelin Pilot Supersports are awesome but expensive. They last 2X longer than the Pirellis so, they become more economical over the long haul.
A surprise to me was how good the Goodyear F1 Supercar is on my current '14. I would definitely buy this tire again and it's only $200 a tire. Great grip wet or dry, nice ride, quiet, good turn in bite.

The Pirellis are great tires but need to be Hot to perform. Goodyear F1 are fantastic tires for all around use. I have them on one of my cars you will not be disappointed. If you are daily driving and tracking once in a while look at the Cooper Zeons. A ton of people here use them. I have them on 2 of my cars and they are awesome. remember not many tires like anything colder than 60 degrees.

I went through two sets of the Pirellis and switched to Continental ExtremeContact DWS, which I loved, and now ExtremeContact DW, which is ok so far.

I'm gonna say no. P Zero is a good tire, but like Jazz said it has to be warm to really grip, and the grip fades significantly with both tread life and temperature. And the former isn't very good either.
If you like the PZero also consider Bridgestone S04. I have a thread on this tire here:\

Oh, nothing like an easy question. You can probably have two of the three things you want but not the third.
Seeing as your avatar shows BBP there are no "cheap" tires for it. 19s are stupid expensive compared to the same tire in 18 or 20. This is because OEMs use 19s more than the aftermarket.
The summer PZeros on your car are an older tire and average at best in today's field of choices. I felt they were ok around corners but, they rode hard, generated wheel hop and were generally useless in a straight line, particularly as temps dropped or it got wet. They also erased like they were made of chocolate.
I quite like the Eagle F1 Supercar on my '14. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat. They are about 200/tire at tire rack, compared to over $300 for the class leading Michelin Pilot SS3.

My car came with 235-18 Pirellis. They made lots of noise. I bought the Brembo take off rims from a convertible and they came with the 255-19 F1 Supercars. They make no noise and grip a bit better. Not sure what the love for the Pirellis is. I was not impressed at all.

Didn't have much luck with our P-Zero's. They started roaring at approx. 17K miles, and got worse from there. I went with the BF Goodrich G-Force this time. I'm not much on the sidewall as it looks a bit truckish, but so far, so good. I don't have enough miles on them yet to give a good review.

Both sets of 255/40/19 OEM P Zero summers that I had on my car cupped in the front, giving me an obnoxious vibration at 70mph. The first set came on the car from the factory, the second came with my Boss 302 wheels.
I will never buy another set of Pirellis.

I'm not sure if the Pirelli Pzero all seasons on my 2014 are different than what came on my '06 but I got 60K out of them on my '06 and I'm at 32K on the '14 and these are trashed already.
I don't drive any different, if anything I was harder on the '06 because I autocrossed it but not the 2014.
