pics of my winter wheels and tires

i went with the GT500 18" wheels from rehagen racing and falken HS439 eurowinter in 245/45-18. i went with a slightly narrower wheel and it seems to fit fine.

i didn't get TPMS and the light has yet to go off in during my 1 mile drive from my local discount tire to my house. maybe it takes a couple of miles to set it off. my summer tires are were not in the car so no false positives.

ignore the messiness of the garage :P

Looks great! I just ordered a set of those wheels for my snow tires. I am getting Pirelli Winter 240s in 245/45VR18. Should have my car in about 3 weeks!

...ned.

we got our first snow here, and i must say i am impressed with my car so far on stock 18s, way better than my 05...but of course i had summer tires on my 05

traction control is amazing too..way better than when i had that in my 02, i can still accelerate AND not slide sideways

Same here. I will start another thread about this later after a larger snow accumulation. So far I am impressed.

It must be a combination of having winter tires, traction control with Advance Track. The electronic steering assist must also feed info to Advance Track system along with the sensors for ABS and traction control and there must be some sort of gyroscope supplying data as well because it can determine the cars angle. Advance Track is so non-obtrusive and does not just shut off power when it detects wheels spin. It actually knows how to get you straight and prevent you from getting sideways. What we normally do is lift from the throttle apply brakes if we get sideways. My experiences so far is lift from the gas a little keep steering and let Advance Track work.........I am adjusting how I drive and letting the electronics do it's job. Advance Track will apply brakes at individual wheels (front left and rear right for example) to keep the car on the correct path and in the right direction. You will never abruptly feel it working but I seem to have amazing traction. I have to get more snow miles and monitor it in different situations to understand it better.

If this really works so well then I could see myself getting a 5.0 version next year and possibly THE BOSS.

Looks good. Interested to see some reviews of your tires after some heavier snowfall. I'll be picking a set up next year when I won't have a spare car any more.
