Paying below invoice

Paying below invoice
Hello,
I see on truecar.com in my area prices for 2011 Mustang are $300 below invoice. Dealer fees are $499 so price is really $199 above invoice. Has anyone gotten a deal that's better than this? I'm trying to determine if I have room to negotiate or if this is the best price I can expect.
Thanks

anything within like ~500 of invoice is pretty good deal. Depending on the area. Otherwise, the dealer knows there's others out there that see it as a good deal and will gladly pay it. Personally if I were a dealer- I'd rather sit on the car for a month and sell it for what I'm asking. Than to trade $50 jabs back and forth with a guy for a week.
Far less aggravation.

Just deal with big high volume dealers through their internet sales dept. Most internet sales reps (all?) don't work off commission and just want to hit certain sales numbers. I did much better than invoice at an out the door price (tax, tag, title, fees). There is always room for negotiation.

Depending on where you are at I would try to deal with one of the dealers that are on this site if you could. Jeff05gt and 5o brian are the couple that come to mind. You may have to pay a couple of hundred more but my guess is that it would be a no hassle deal and your dealing with people that know Mustangs backwards and forwards. Iam as tight as they come but would give them a bit more to lesson the hassles. I would rather deal with somebody that is as passionate as I am rather than some guy that doesnt know a Gt from a F150.

The only fees we charge are sales tax, license tabs, $150 doc fee (which is negotiable), and a $9 title app fee. We don't collect the sales tax or licensing from out-of-state buyers, however, so those need to be paid by the customer directly to their home state. That's it; very simple and straightforward here.
