He mentions that he's related to someone that works for ford and that's how he got into the lot.

I've been wanting to get to the lot and take pics from the fence for a couple weeks...the last two saturday nights my current car started overheating though >.< It has been a great car (I have had it for 10yrs, 140k miles) and it's needed minimal work ( < $2000 over the whole 10yrs, besides wearables of course)...I think it is jealous it is going to be swapped out for the Mustang in a few weeks so it is giving me headaches :P Should be good now...so this weekend I will get some lot shots if the weather cooperates It is supposed to be 70-80F tomorrow!

The brackets are still thrown in the trunk when they are built and then put on at the dealer.

Believe me, the people who do the marketing on this car, know that of all the cars Ford makes, this is the ONE car that you DO NOT put a front bracket on at the factory like the F150s, Edges, Explorers, etc. They know their customers hate these brackets and don't want them on.

Thank God or else my dealership would be replacing my front bumper cover.

Thanks for this relief!

I agree. I told my dealer not to even unwrap the car, let alone install a front LP bracket. he said they never do, they leave it to the customer. I found that to be awesome, especially since California is a weiner about that kinda stuff.

The three sports cars I've owned haven't had a LP bracket on the front, and I live in Texas. I'm surprised I've never been pulled over because several of my friends who drive 370's and Mustangs have been pulled over. Never ticketed, just warned, but still. Honestly though, if I do get pulled over in the GT500, I'm going to ask, "Ok, walk around to the front of the car and show me where I'm supposed to put the license plate."

I've been followed by cops looking for something to pull me over in my '97 so many times there's no way I can run without a front plate without getting tickets.

I bet I could remove it from my plain commuter car and never have a problem though

The dealer asked before mine went on. I expected to get applied fors and do it myself at home when the plates arrived but instead got real plates at the dealer. So I had it put on. I didn't want to get pulled over on the way back home. A very real possibility considering how many towns I had to go through and the nature of cops in some of them.

I was going to try some more creative way to mount it, but ultimately there were going to be holes somewhere. I didn't want to put it anywhere it would mess with airflow or get pushed into the lower part of the bumper the first time I misjudged a parking block or something if it was down really low. What I ended up doing is buying a second bracket online and then painting it to match the body. It's better, but that's all it is.

Anyway it's not like the holes couldn't be dealt with if I chose to go plate-less in the future. There are dimples for the screw locations anyway... if one wanted to be really perfect those should be filled and painted

As to my personal views, I think it's absurd we have our property defaced with these things front and rear.

I think this is a better option compared to drilling the front bumper,
