Parking Brake Problem on 2011 GT

Hi. I have a 2011 GT, 6-Speed manual transmission.

Yesterday I pulled out of my garage and put the parking brake on to get out and close the garage door. I got out of my car and was about to start closing the garage door when I heard what sounded like the sound of the trunk popping when you press the button to open it. Then the car started rolling. Luckily my driveway is almost flat and it didn't roll fast and I could catch it and get in to put the brake on. I haven't had any other problems with the parking brake since this happened. I checked the trunk, it was not open or unlatched.

Any thoughts on what could be wrong?

I have an appointment to drop the car off on Monday at the dealer to have them look at the brakes.

Thanks for any feedback.

Tony

Have heard of this same thing happening to a couple Boss guys as well (same parking brake setup). Best guess is the latching mechanism fails to engage or partially engages, then "slips" either due to vibration or because of a partially locked state. When I engage my brake (rarely... flat garage and use a block of wood since I don't drive the car on the street that much) I engage the handle and give a quick push down or wiggle to make sure it stays where it is (avoid the potentially partially engaged state)

Interested to see what the dealership says though

Definitely bring it in to your dealer, TonyB84. I want to ensure this is looked into. Please keep me posted on their findings.
