Out of the Big 3, why did you chose the Stang?
Out of the Big 3, why did you chose the Stang?
3600 pound curb weight
solid rear axle
nice interior
4 valve motor - (exhaust sound)
6-speed (finally)
373 option
SYNC
I went with the Stang due to the reasons above. I will admit, I almost pulled the trigger on a LS3 Maro SS until I heard rumor of a 400HP 5L. I prefer a solid rear instead of IRS. I like the agressive front fascia, but not the butt. The tail & reverse lights need to be reshaped & placed differently. Besides the seats, the interior needs a complete overhaul. I love the looks of the Chally RT but thats about it. I dont understand an IRS in a 4200 pound car. The interior is that of a Charger. This car will losing to V6 Stangs & Maros.

Altho I don't hate it as much as I did when it first came out, the Camaro just looks like a hot-wheels car to me. And an ugly one at that.
I think the Challenger looks good, but I wasn't impressed with the interior, had trouble finding the gears, and far as I know you can't get a power passenger seat in it with ANY package... and that's just riduiculous. I don't think the Charger looks enough like a Charger, and even if the Challenger had a power seat and the Charger looked better, they're both still Chrysler products.
The Mustang interior is nicer, comes better equipped for the money, and it looks like what I think a Mustang should look like.

Mustang costs less, is the right size, and I can see out of it. The powere advantage is a nice bonus.
My second choice would be the Challenger. While it is really big and expensive, it would be a cushy daily driver.
Third choice, the other thats left... But would probably a sedan before I would buy it.

I come from a GM family that has purchased a Thunderbird or Mustang here and there...
When it came time for me to purchase a fun car, I went with a 2005 Mustang GT because there was no Camaro and I didn't like the looks of the GTO....
Almost purchased a 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS while keeping my '05 Mustang GT (sold my 2007 Jeep Wrangler to make room)... then my '05 was rear ended...
Original plan was to wait on the 5.0L until the Camaro was paid off and trade the '05 for it, but now the Camaro will have to wait until Chevrolet responds w/ engine & suspension improvements.
Depending on what Fiat allows Dodge to do in response, I may consider a Challenger R/T over a Camaro... The Challenger would make a better daily driver for me.

The new body update for 2010 got me interested. Then the aditional sound deading with improved door and trunk seals for 2011 was a nice addition. The new V-6 engine and 6 speed automatic transmission with the optional 3.31 rear gear ratio sold me. The weight was kept nice and low compaired to the Challenger and Camaro. There isn't a car made in America with the 'History' of the Mustang (the Vette is a close second in my opinion). These are the main reasons i bought a 2011 Mustang.
My first word as a child was "Bronco" (my first toy was a white Bronco II Matchbox, red interior). The only non-Ford vehicles that have been in our driveway were my dad's 86 Capri and his 85 Mazda B-Series pickup
.
Ok, he DID own a Datsun 510 coupe for a while, but it got totaled after being rear ended. I love those too though. Pretty much, I'm a Ford man from the heart. But honestly, I do like the exterior looks of the 5th Gen Camaro and the Chally. I wouldn't mind owning one of each...
In my perfect Ford world, I'd have an 04 Cobra, an 04 Lightning, an 04 SVT Focus, a 2012 Focus sedan, a 95 Taurus SHO, a 10 Taurus SHO and a 10 SVT Raptor.

I been a ford guy since Fred Lorenzen store his grand national car in my Grandfather garage in 1960 and ended up driving for Homes and Moody in 1963 Bought my first Stang in1969 428 mach 1 then the Boss and had a Mustang ever since
Last fall I was considering a new car and it was a process of elimination for much of it. Hyundai Genesis only went up to a V6, never got a clean review on why some people though it was better than the muscle cars. Corvettes a bit too expensive, no backseat, but otherwise great cars. To be perfectly honest I wanted a muscle car with a V8 and a good serving of torque and horsepower, preferably from an American company (which given my basic specification pretty much eliminated everything that wasn't made by an American company
). Enter the 2010 Mustang/Camaro/Challenger, more process of elimination.
Challenger was right out from handling and cost (felt like I was getting more for my money with a Mustang or a Camaro). Despite a natural inclination toward a Mustang for it being my own first car, I gave a Camaro some serious thought, but I was torn. Camaro SS had serious power, but lacked options. Mustang GT had the options, but only had adequate power. I personally preferred the Mustang's look, and the handling reviews generally favored the Mustang as well, which got me some ideas for the twisty mountain roads that aren't far from here. Still, neither was a clear winner, but then I heard the poorly kept secret of the Coyote 5.0 Engine and how it's expected to get 400 HP and 400 Torque. The one thing I was disappointed on with the 2010 Mustangs was the one thing being upgraded to competitive levels in 2011.
That pretty much just sealed the deal right there, as long as the 2011s kept the rest of the 2010's stuff, which it seems like it has, so that's where I decided.

1. The Mustang has been continuously built since 1964 for a reason.
2. I had a '69 Mach 1 and loved the styling ... waited for the '05 design to add reliability and comfort
3. GM is too Fisher Price in its interiors
4. Ford finally fixed the powertrains (I got the V6 with a 6spd manual -- woo hoo!)
5. The Challenger required I take Coast Guard certification courses
6. The Camaro looks cool but in execution it just doesn't work
7. The Mustang has the best visibility "out"
8. Ford technology as integrated with the interiors is better than the others, hands-down
Although I still like the GM LS engines. Or all of their small block V8's for that matter. It's like owning a hammer. You can use it for just about anything even if it's not quite the right tool.

Been raised a Ford person since birth. I have owned 7 different mustangs in my 20yrs of driving in addition to other Ford products. My dad has owned a couple of GM cars (68 Firebird and corvair) but I really have no desire to own a GM or Dodge unless Ford didn't have the Mustang.
I just love the look of the 2011 GT, love the quality and interior, the technology and of course the motor, brakes and suspension. All of that made it easy for me to pick this car as my next daily drive in November.

In no particular order:
1. V8
2. 2 door 4 seater
3. after-market
4. Looks
5. 400hp
6. 6speed
7. comfort (DD)
I followed the 10' Camaro but when I saw it in person I didn't like it. Ugly inside (my opinion) and looked huge outside. I was just obsessed with the ls3 in a more affordable car. It just didn't do it for me. I test drove a 10' Mustang GT and it is just better, but didn't have the push you back in your seat the Camaro had. Ford fixed that with the 11' 5.0... its just a win win for me. Also it will be fun to be a part of the Mustang community.

Mustang has a lighter quicker feel.
Camaro is a Caricature of the original and wont 60'...
Challenger is very heavy and feels like what it is. An oversized and Overweight Copy of a 1970 built on a Cop Car Chassis.
