Opening door - window not lowering fast enough?
Hi all. Have my 2011 about a week now and noticed that when I open the drivers door, the window seems to get hung up on the upper black trim as though it isn't lowering fast enough to clear it. Is this normal?

Don't know if its normal, but my salesman specifically told me to open the door on my convertible slowly so as to minimize wear. Not a perfect solution, but that's what I do.

I believe it might need to be recalibrated. It's been a while so I can't remember the procedure for sure. It was simple like holding down or up the window switch. Check your manual and see if it's still in there.

To recalibrate:
Lower the window and hold the switch down for an additional two seconds after it reaches bottom. Immediately after releasing the switch, hold it up to raise the window and then continue to hold for an additional two seconds after fully raised. This must be done with the door closed.

Mine does that too...I don't think it's a calibration as the window drop works as designed...Just a bit slowly. I've just adjusted my door opening technique to allow it time for the drop..

I've noticed the same issue, but only when I am in a hurry and try to instantly pull the handle and push the door open instantly. Just being a little more deliberate in my motion seems to cure the whole thing. It's not a huge deal to me because I really enjoy the upside: whistle-proof (so far) window seals, combined with doors that are very easy to close (if there was a real air-tight situation all the time, the doors would resist closing all the way). I like not having to slam my doors.

I noticed the same issue a day after getting my car. It could be because I'm used to windows that don't have this mechanism, so I open them quickly... so I might just have to learn to open the door slower. But now I'll have to let my passengers know to do the same.

Hmm I never heard that. But so far my window seems to function normally (drop down a bit upon opening normal speed).

Just checked it out. When the driver and passenger doors are down all the way, the driver's is still up further... hence when it tops out, it's up higher. Tried the calibration but no go. Guess I'll have it looked at during the first oil change!
