True. If this was true, wouldn't you think this would be front page news on every competitor of Mobil 1 web sites?

Castrol

I have always used Castrol GTX in all my vehicles. I see that they make a synthetic called EDGE with Titanium. I would probably use that when the time comes.

They also make Edge with Syntec Technology, which is their regular full synthetic (Titanium is the extended life one), and used to be called Syntec. I use it in both our vehicles and have used it in all of mine for close to a decade. No problems to speak of.

For the first time I broke rank and put M1 in my new Tacoma. I am up to 8000 on this oil change. I will probably change soon. Costco had an unbeatable deal on M1 so I bought 3 six-packs. They were $10 off.

I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with that. You know those coffee filters that are like a mesh screen? They always seem to leave more real fine coffee grounds in the bottom of the cup compared to the old fashioned paper filters. That's what I think of for this K&N.

The actual filter media on that filter doesn't last forever, it is a replaceable element, it's just the housing and bypass that you don't need to replace.

Myself, I would never get one. I was just messing around. I had a "forever" K&N air filter and got tired of cleaning it so I got rid of it.

How do you get tired of cleaning a filter that doesn't require cleaning but every 30-50K miles?

Must have been driving about 10 thou a month...

I've raped my car for 21,000 miles on an aggressive 93 tune lubed with 5w20 M1EP. Your guy is working the counter at O'Reillys for a a reason.

There sure was a sweet looking young blonde girl working the counter at O'Reilly's today when I was in there!

Too bad that all the counter people there aren't sweet looking young women!

$230?? The regular, fabulous K&N oil filter is about $12 at the parts store, so I can get almost 20 for the same price as the forever one. And the regular one will last at least 7,500 miles, so I've got 150,000 miles or more worth of filters for the same price.

Go with motor craft recommended spec oil and filter or amsoil signature series 5w30 with motor craft filter.

I know right? I was wondering why there's been a long hiatus between oil threads. Lol.

To sum it up for the op and others: it's not so much WHAT oil you put in your cars, but it's WHEN you change your oil. In other words, just "change" your oil within recommended guidelines. Done.
