I know many of you came from 05 through 09 stangs, so the jump wasn't as drastic as it has been for me. My previous car, the 2000 GT, had different springs, struts, caster camber plates etc... to improve the handling which I thought was ok. This car blew me away in the way it turns in and stays flat in the turns. It defeintely feels nimble and very well planted tan any other car I have driven. The engine doesn't seem that powerful, but I think the illusion is the lack of sound and the linear way it makes power. It pulls more like and electric motor, instead of the brute force pull of say an old built push rod motor. It has the power, it just delivers it in a more refined way which is very deceptive. I am still trying to get used to where everthing is control wisw, and the blind spot mirrors definetly take a little time to warm up to. I general. I love it so far, its fast, refined, handles and looks great, what els do you need.

The question: Does anyone have a good way to remove wax from the black plastic? Short of masking it when you wax, your going to get some on the plastic trim, and it is very hard to get it off and make the plastic look good, Any suggestions as for technique or a product would be appreciated.

I don't know, but whatever you use, I would use that mickey mouse looking Mickey Mouse to remove it with.

Nice car, and congrats. As for removing wax from black plastic, i bought Mothers black plastic cleaner. Brings out the shine in plastic and rubber. Works really good.

Soft bristle toothbrush, warm water and soap.

 

I just used spray on detailer i had, on the black plastic to remove the wax I got on there, came off pretty easy.

Those wheels are the best looking factory Mustang wheel in a long time.

Oh yeah, there are a number of products made for cleaning and protecting the black plastic trim on the car. Walmart or your friendly neighborhood discount auto parts store should have plenty of offerings.

And next time you wax, do like I do and take a piece of cardboard and lay against the trim as you apply the wax.

 

I use " Meguiar's NXT Generation INSANE SHINE Tire Coating" on the plastic trim.
What I do is spray some on a circular applicator pad (like the ones you would use for wax...) and then just go over all the trim (including the mirrors, window trim, antenna, and where the windsheild wipers lay) . Works amazingly well, and it removes any wax residue...

I was waiting on a comment about the Mickey Mouse antenna ball. My stuck that on, just waiting for a time until she forgets about it to take it off. Paul, we had a good uneventful trip back from Rochester. We stopped at Dinosaurs BBQ in Rochester, and Niagra falls. It was a long trip back, but fun and at time a little anxious as you watch stuff fly from peoples pickup trucks and threaten your new car. I will check into some of these products for the black plastic. Thanks for all of the comments on the car, I am very happy with it and love the color.

I tried WD-40 before I got the Mother Black to Black worked pretty good.

 

just get a pencil eraser and remove it with that
Tried it the other day and it worked fine on my car

Just do a small inconspicuous spot to make sure first.
