There's a link to the fusions interior...
Wondering if the 'hidden screen' we haven't seen on the stang is like this.

That would be awesome. If it were true, I would feel like I'm driving KITT.

Now if only we could get a screen like that without paying for Nav. It would be great for radio displays to get artist and title info and then put the Miles to Empty and other Car data on that screen.

Yeah it would. Something similar to the Nissan GT-R.

+1,000,000,000,000,000. I really hope that is an option. With or without Nav!!!

BTW... I just read on Engadget that the big 'ol screen will also be in the F-150. Not sure if that was on Autoblog or not.

I don't know, if you look at the latest pic of the GT500 interior, you can see a small rectangular segment below the vents (maybe radio, climate control?) meaning the screen would have to be below this portion making it too low. The Fusions is set right below the middle vents to give it a nice high central placement. It doesn't seem likely, but it sure would be cool!

Can you show me a pic. I don't remember seeing such a thing.

If anything, this will be one hell of an expensive option.

EDIT: I think I see it in this picture, http://jalopnik.com/photogallery/201...Spy/1001909918

I think that could be the screen.

It seems ford is throwing this in a lot of their new cars.
Its the Next Gen DVD system that will launch with the 2009 cars (Lincoln MKS and Flex IINM)
It seems to be a very cool system

Infact check the ULTIMATE PACKAGE (consisting of the Technology Package and Navigation Package) as well as some other goodies.

$5,715
Includes:
• Technology Package
• Navigation Package
• Dual-panel moonroof
• 19-inch premium painted-aluminum wheels
• Ultimate Seating Trim: Seat color-keyed suede strip in the center of the seatbacks (front and rear), embroidered Lincoln Star logo on the front headrest

Technology Package: ($1,115)
Includes:
• Adaptive headlamps with auto high beam
• Rain-sensing Wipers
• Forward Sensing System
• Intelligent Access with Push-button start

Navigation Package ($2995)
Includes:
• Voice-activated Next Generation DVD Navigation System
• THX® II Certified Car Audio System with 5.1 surround sound
• Reverse camera system

I would TOTALLY be all over these options in the Mustang
(keep in mind they are options, you don't want them you don't have to get them)

If what Topnotch said is true (the faux gas cap housing a rear backup cam like in the F150 and Lincoln) I can see these packages being added to the Mustang. And I HOPE they are.

Yeah, thats the pic I was referring to. If you look right above the "ot" in "photography" you can see that the section is rectangular and about the size of a stereo or climate control section.

I could see this being a popular option on Mustangs however, since it caters to a younger crowd generally.

All that means is that this particular test mule didn't have the optional nav. There's no way that Ford would make something like this standard so it's just whatever would be there without nav.
