That is absolutely ridiculous. Any person that buys it would be a fool. And a fool and his money will soon be parted.

 

Even if it was production it's not like your going to see it rolling down main, the cobra jet is a purpose built drag car, looks are the last thing to concern yourself with, if it needs that kind of air intake then I say keep it on there. It pops wheelies out of the box

The more I see that big ol hood scoop, the more I like it. I am sure the hood scoop looks alot better when seen in person than in a picture. The Ford design team could possibly refine and streamline the look and make that awsum hood scoop available on the 2013 GT500. That would be BOSS !

 

I don't know about the new but the old cobra jet is a 5.4 s/c

 

i heard 5.8l SC.. but its all just rumors..

 

Is it inconceivable to you that Ford just tacked an enormous hood scoop on to get everybody talking about it? I doubt there is anything under it that requires its volume. But their ploy seems to have worked.

I think you're all missing the 007 badging on the back. There are forward firing rockets in that thing right next to the oil slick reservoir.

I am thinking it has a Ram Air setup. The air filter is in the hood scoop. Most likely there is a vacuum controlled flapper in front of the air filter to allow a direct shot of cold air to go straight to the intake manifold under hard acceleration. Purely Function over Form. Notice how there is what appears to be a trapdoor behind the hood scoop opening.
