Newbie Question - 2014 GT

I’ve never owned a Mustang before but decided to take the plunge. I’m leaning towards the 2014 GT with Track Package and Ricaro seats in DIB. While I can appreciate the lure of the glass roof and the premium package, I’m keeping it simple. After calling a few dealers, I’m getting an MSRP of $35.6K and an OTD of $32.3K.

I just wanted to run this by the experts on this site and make sure I’m not missing anything.

This forum has been a great source of information. I plan on reading the maintenance sections for proper care.

Thank you.

My build price was 40k and my OTD price was 34k including taxes and ect...so I'd say shop around a little more and see who gives you the best price

I just ordered a 2014 GT in sterling gray with recaros, 3:73s and spoiler delete. OTD price was $29,485.

If your a member of USAA you can get about 5-6k off MSRP by using there car buying service. If not like others have said shop around before you seal the deal. If you find one on the lot its much easier to bargain to get the price lower.

Look on cars.com, you may find just what you want already on the lot. You might have to travel a little to get it or have it shipped to you. And you should be able to get about $5K off of MSRP at the right dealer.

Thanks guys.

Regarding finding one on the lot, every dealer insist the 2014 GT with only the TP and R seats is rare, i.e, there are only a few within 500 miles or it needs to be factory ordered.

I'll keep searching. It's worth it.

My GT with track pack and recaros was $33,300 I believe, plus tax. I got $2750 in rebates, so the end price I paid was $35414 - $2750 = $32,664 I believe. That was Xplan pricing

Search nation wide, they can ship it to you or just hop a plane and go get it.

Great idea to hop on a plane and drive the new Mustang home, provided it is not an added expense that takes the total price over what you can get it for locally. As an example, a one way ticket can cost more than a round trip, so buying a round trip and skipping the return flight can be cheaper. A round trip flight can still cost close to a grand or more, depending on where you fly out to. Airline tickets are getting expensive these days!

That's including Tax, Title, Fees etc ? If so, that's a great price!!

This is the same car I ordered, but I don't think I'll be able to beat your price!!

Yes, that was including tags, title, etc. I was trying to hold out for a 2015, but then realised:

1. Can't be bothered to wait until April 2014

2. It might not look as good as it is in my head

3. The price will go up

4. There will be no rebates

I'm happy with the purchase.

If you use one of the discount companies like expedia and book about a week or more before, the tickets, even one way, can be had pretty cheap. And you would probably need a week or more to get everything squared away on the car anyway before you could go get it.

Exactly what I found. There wasn't a single '13 GT premium in SMG 6M TP glass roof leather Recaros and spoiler delete anywhere in the country, so I had to order it. I ended up with a '14 because the '13 order cycle had closed in October.

Congrats on your order, MD1! I’ll get back to your PM as soon as possible.
