New Mustang owner have questions

Hello,

Picked up a 2013 DIB track pack, Recaro GT premium a week ago. I am loving the car!!
Have a few questions, this is my first Mustang.
-When in reverse is the clunk normal when pushing the clutch in after you are rolling?
-What are other with the GT track pack getting for fuel economy? Car has about 700 miles on it and did a 100 mile highway trip cruise set at 75 in 6th gear only got 21MPG. Is the 5W-50 oil hurt fuel economy that much or is it way to early to be worried about fuel what MPG the car is getting?
-Anyone think of replacing their braker pads? I am amazed at the amount of dust these give off. Great performance but ****!

Overall love my car, added a Cooks axle back and had the windows tinted over the weekend.

- I'm mostly guessing, but the 3.73 gearing probably has a lot more to do with your 21 mpg than the oil viscosity. Ive also observed roughly 21/22 mpg as you've described (identical drive train)

- reverse makes some noise with my tranny as well, but mainly when I pop the clutch a little. I'm no expert with the 6spd yet

-my brakes dust a lot, but you can do a few things to help. First, anticipate stopping so you can use downshifts to help slow down. Also, wax the wheels so the dust won't stick as much. Also, I think the dusting will improve as the brakes get broken in a little more.

Love my car too! Good to see other dib track pack owners around!

well if the dust really bugs you, get ceramic pads.

The oil won't have near as much effect on your mpg as the gearing will.

Yeah, and better yet, don't drive it at all... Guaranteed to improve your mileage!

21 is good.

I have an 11 GT w/3.73s. About a month ago did a 300 mile trip and averaged 24.5
running 72-74 with some mountains ( granted N. England mtns). But you only have 700 miled= not even broken in yet ! I have 8k on miine now. It should get better as
the miles add up.

Just enjoy the car and stop worrying so much...

Thanks for the info. Just assumed I would get closer to the window sticker. Coming from a Magnum SRT-8 so I am used to paying alot for gas.

Don't count on a big improvement with 3.73s. I've got over 10k on mine, and it still doesn't do much better than high 21s on long trips running 75 or so. It will only get 24-25 if I run under 68 MPH, and running that speed, you're right in the middle of all the idiots who can't decide how fast they want to run. I hate passing some moron, having him pass me, and then having to do it all over again when he slows down. I always end up getting mad, just nailing it, and passing all of them. LOL

I'm pretty sure the cars they use for EPA testing have 3.31s.

They didn't run it at 75 mph during the EPA economy testing...

And if you read what it says on the window sticker about the fuel economy numbers, it gives a range of mileage with the posted number as the average.

And it will get closer to those numbers if you slow down.
