New guy with a new 2011 GT
Hey everyone,
Been reading the boards here for the last couple days while finishing up the paperwork on my new 2011 GT. It has the rapid spec 401a, comfort package and security package and the 19" rims. The best part about getting it though is that I'm stationed at Baumholder, Germany with the US Army so I'll get to try it out on the autobahn! Sorry about the quality of the pictures we got snowed on the day it arrived here so I had to let the car heat up and melt the snow off first.

Hello and Welcome
You and I have almost the exact same car. Love the accessory package on these cars. Congrats on your new 2011 Mustang GT. Have fun out there on the Autoban!
Thank you for your service to our country.

Thanks for the welcome, I've never looked into owning a mustang before I saw this one. The only other Ford I've ever owned was a 1993 Taurus SHO which was a completely awesome car until a stormy night on the highway when I was sixteen and thought I knew how to drive... but anyways. I'm very happy with this car and can't wait to drive it off the lot here. I have to wait until Tuesday though because the paperwork for importing a car here takes forever.

Congratulations and thank you for your service!
I'm very curious -- how much does it cost to import a Mustang to Germany?

Congrats and thanks for serving.
I was stationed at Ramstein...but my 1999 Ford Explorer wasn't as fun as your Mustang will be on the Autobahn. The Explorer had a 95mph limiter It sucked getting passed on the A6 like I was sitting still...but I don't think you'll have that problem with your 5.0.
Have fun on the A62 and be safe!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone.
Bert- According to my paperwork from the dealer there are four different charges and they are:
Overseas Transportation Charge (Includes Port of Embarkation charges, Debarkation charges and sea transportation: $1,022.00
Delivery Point Processing Service: $525.00
Stock Storage Fee: $195.00
Inland Germany Destination Fee: $407.00
Now granted these are the costs for the dealership to ship it over here. I've heard other people say that it usually costs around $2,000.
