A new debate but on things that are apples and oranges.

I know there are a lot of Vs. threads out there but due to financial reasons I am having a tough time deciding which will stay and which will go. My gut tells me that this is a no brainer. My brain tells me that my gut doesn't have a brain.

I enjoy everyone's reactions and advice so here is the bout:

Brembo Brake Package vs. Electronics Package
(IMHO)
Pros:
One of the best
looking off the shelf
Mustang GT (non-GT)
possibly ever.

Performance doesn't lie,
stops on a dime.

Really sets the car
apart visually.

Nav:
Much more premier looking
and functioning center stack

One of the best looking/functioning
Nav systems on the market.

DZCC
Easier Sync control, Ipod control.

I know there are many more Pros for each, it just may come down to what is the most realistic choice. The only con really is that if I get one, I can't get the other. I suppose this isn't the most drastic thing to be calculating, it could be worse.

I know some might say the Brakes can be added and so can the wheels, but the Brembo Pkg is the least expensive overall ticket when you add up the cost in aftermarket brakes and wheels, if I do that then throw in suspension and we are easily waaaay above the package price. Thus it's easier to go Brembo's first then to add later in my mind.

I appreciate any differing opinions or advice on what others would do.

No question that the Brembos will be sweet and the wheels are super sharp. But you'll likely not notice the difference between them and stock in normal driving. The EP, on the other hand, you will notice every time you turn the key. If you decide the stock brakes aren't up to par, you can add Brembos or Baer or maybe something even better by then. Your current wheels can be sold if you want bigger wheels to go with bigger brakes.

I like high performance but feel that the non-Brembo (and even the V6) is PLENTY of performance. I'd like the rest of the car to measure up as well. The EP truly upgrades the interior comforts that you'll use every day.

My $.02. Keep the change.

everything i've read has said that the brembo package isn't really worth it since it's only on the front, not all the away around.

now the wheels for the brembo's look nice but i'm not going to see my wheels as often as my center stack. because of that i'm choosing the entertainment package. also, there's not much there aftermarket wise to get a nav unit after. down the road, it'll be easy to get better brakes, not so easy to get the nav and all the other things it comes with (dual zone, etc.)

You'll spend more time in the car than on the track...

Upgrading the interior can be very expensive... Upgrading the wheels & brakes can also be expensive, but if you plan on tracking the car, having an extra set of wheels & tires can't hurt.

choosing between options is the worst part of ordering a car.. really i would look at the monthly payment impact of getting both, things like would i pay an extra 40 a month to have the benefits of the nav. you might come to the decision you want both.

Yeah, honestly, I hate the way 18's look on the car but for the track, it's the way I'd go if I found a light weight set.

It would be nice if I could get in on a dealer trade to swap wheels with my car, when I go to buy, buy an aftermarket set of the CS 56 wheels and swap out the susupension. To match. This I could go for. For now, I suppose the brushed aluminum's would do!

I know the brakes are just over 13" now from the factory. FRPP will offer a set of the Brembo's in aftermarket form soon. Ford just needs a better wheel and tire package similar to the Brembo pkg.

I won't actually be using the Shaker, but you bring up a good point though, makes me think I need to e-mail someone about this.

I ordered mine with the Electronics Package and without the Brembo brakes. I like spirited driving but I'm never going to put my car on a track. I haven't had a car whose brakes have overheated since my last Mustang, a 1988 GT. Those were crappy brakes. I had a brake pad catch fire on me once. I think the standard GT brakes are going to be fine, plus I'm not crazy about the wheels in the Brembo package. Those summer-only tires are **** nice, though. I can always upgrade the tires later if I feel the need to.

The navigation system is something I will enjoy every time I go on a road trip. Plus it's a nicer looking screen than the standard stereo, even when you're not in navigation mode. The electronics package also has dual zone automatic climate control, which is nice, too. My wife and often have different ideas of the ideal temperature in a car, so having dual zone is a real benefit to me. My two pesos.

I chose to go the other route from many on here, base GT with Brembo brakes and 3.73, as I never really have the radio on…and I have never used the cup holders either.

The brakes can be upgraded aftermarket like they say, though I personally really like the Brembo special rims, but even with those there's probably going to be sets floating around for sale with people buying their own rims or what have you.

Now that center console? No chance you can upgrade to that later. Aftermarket units won't be as good and I don't know of any way to upgrade a car to the factory spec EP later.

While I wish I could say I would go performance, I think unless I were going to track the thing frequently I'd pick the EP over the Brembo package.

Now aside from that, I'd also say that the EP has a lot of useful stuff on it. Then again, brembos are just awesome to have anyway, but the stopping distance cut off isn't that huge. Still, one cannot say no to more stopping distance, that extra ten feet (or whatever it is) could one day be the difference between an accident and a near miss. The chances are small, but they are there. If I were on a budget though, I can't ignore that the brakes and rims are much easier to upgrade and get the same effect as the Brembo Package, and the EP may well be impossible, so in the future when I have more money I can just handle the brakes myself.

The only thing I'm uncertain about is the custom tuning in the Brembo package, but I heard that was just the sport mode, so I dunno. That's the only thing that leaves me a bit uncertain.

But take my opinion for what you will, I'm not sure it means much... they both sound nice!

If you plan on keeping the car for 30 years and selling it at Barrett Jackson in 2040, get the Brembo's. I think this is one of those options that will add a lot of collector value a long time down the road. If not, get the Nav. You'll get more use out of it.

I getting neither. Not going to the track, and if it talks or tells me what to do, it'll drive me nuts.

Since you have two cars already, why not wait long enough so that you can buy both options? Put a bigger down payment into the pot to keep your payments the same as what you've been planning.

I don't see myself having nav in the mustang. I have it in my lexus along with the dvd hack to play movies and I never use it. I find myself turning off the nav screen, I always know where I'm going... lol

It is going to be a while before I order and after pricing the options together, it's not the worst and is still far less than our 335. I am just getting itchy to get out of my Accord. I now have a cracked windshield to repair before trade in. I am also trying to dig myself out of a small hole I am in with my credit card. If I didn't have so much going on this month I would be more at ease, but it seems like every month goes by and I feel like I haven't made a dent. Thank god we don't have any weddings or graduations to go to any more. Random crap seems to cost more than anything I plan for and I'm getting really tired of it.
