Earlier someone posted that the Camaro concept was supposedly pretty close to the design of the 09. Well, I've been playin in photo ship and have been looking around for ideas and pics to base chops on and I came across this:
Odd, how similar this 05 design drawing looks to the Camaro concept.
Could this be a design that was being held for a few years. It definitely fits the bill: IE hips, similar to the Camaro, more contemporary then the 05, more muscular....
I for one would be plenty happy with this design

And its not necessarily that the 09 and the Camaro look a like..but that some of the features 'hips' etc, may be taken as copying, even though the 09 was being designed since before the 05 was released for sale...

My guess is the hips will be there and possibly that small rear passenger window.
Ford's next best move would be to go for the edge-ier look again or something
that gives the front a mean face and even tougher stance. The ducktails in these
photo shops look real good and of course some sort of taillamp modification.
It's got to make you go....."Whoa, I gotta check that out." Here's hoping Ford
will find that right mix.

Here's a thought that I haven't read here yet. What if Ford decides to recreate the evolution of the original Mustang at a slower, more modern rate? The 05 roofline looks just like a 66 Shelby, and the sides are flat like the 65-66s. I know there's a little 69 in the nose, but I think the 05 looks most like the original 65. Why not have the 09 take after the 67-68s? Hips, sculpted sides, rear window louvers, true fastback, more muscle? The 2013 version could be even more muscular, like the 69-70s cars were. Whether or not they want to go into the 71-73 styling, or even the IIs is something they have plenty of time to decide, but the original evolution could be repeated to give fans from each bodystyle a chance to own a modern rendition. A second shot at the 60s for all of us! Gives ya goosebumps, don't it?
Well, crud. There's a whole thread based on this whole idea a little further down the page. Nevermind.

heres mine..it's still in the early stages. I need to iron out some details and finish it but you get the idea
I showed this in the art section with different rims than these...i'm not sold on these rims either.

Doug that is simply AWESOME!!!! Ford should pay attention to your designs, that is EXACTLY what the '09 Boss should look like...make mine Metallic Black...or Gray...or Grabber Blue....heck, just make it!!

cant beat the look of a fastback...Oh how I'd love to see more 1969 in the next one...hate to say, but could even sway towards trading in...I still have my 69(in pcs) and to me its still the prettiest mustang...the way the hood dege line runs down the side/back up the scoop, to the door line, the angled quarter glass w/pop-out windows, those beautiful long sail panels with the quarters bulging out, the flared spoiler...man I need to get started on that car...hopefully before another one comes out!
that reminds me- need to scoot it over in the garage to get the 06 in tonight...ohio's expecting 60+mph wind tonight- dont need a bunch of lawn furniture and stuff blowing into the new one.

Great info!
I read a pretty good article on themustangnews.com too about the 2009 mustang:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'> While a number of special edition Mustangs will be coming our way in the meantime such as the upcoming 2007/2008 Mach 1, the 2009 Mustang might just be the one to wait for.
Would be nice if the Mach 1 showed up as a 2007 1/2

Not digging the "hip". Makes the rear too bulky looking. Reminds me of how I felt when the C5 vette came out, looked like a big ol' bubble butt sticking up in the air! If your a "baby got back" fan, I guess it's alright!

Pretty good article, summarizes nicely what most other sources are saying about the '09 'Stang...let's hope most of these "rumors" become reality for the next evolution of the Mustang
