I hope I'm not jinxing myself here, but after years of drooling and saving and an extended lay off and other trials and tribulations, I may be pulling the trigger on a 2012 order in a couple days.
I'd like to know what you think of this deal, and if anyone can compare it to X-Plan for me I would appreciate it:
Specs:
-2012 Mustang GT Premium Coupe
-6 speed manual
-White/Stone
-HID & Security Package
-Reverse Sensing
-3.55 rear end
MSRP: $35,510
$98 Over Invoice Price $33,357.92
+Tax: $300
+New Tags $51 ($37 if your transferring)
-Current Ford Rebates: $500
+Closing Costs, Doc Fees, Admin Charges: $0
Out the Door Price: $33,208.92
Seems good to me, but how does it compare to X-Plan? Would you go for it?

Here's some X-Plan figures for 2012 GT Premium
MSRP $33,045
X-Plan $31,140
Your features are around $2010 (looking on the Ford prices on the site), so with the X-plan you're looking at around $33,150 without considering rebates, taxes, delivery fee, etc.
So you might save a few bucks, not much. I would suggest that you use the X-Plan price as a baseline, try to save beyond that. If I had bought my v6 for the X-Plan price I would have felt ripped off.
Don't forget that there is also a 750 coupon from Ford if you request a brochure and mark down that you're going to buy soon. I think I read that they are sending via email now. I requested mine and bought my Mustang 4 days later- I hadn't gotten the coupon but they could look it up in the computer.

If there really is no doc fees it would make sense to do the deal not using X-plan. I calculated X-Plan at $33,401.88 based on the info above. So your a little ahead . . . FWIW I have seen a number of people negotiate under invoice on orders so there may still be some $ left there too.

Yup, I'm SC. Sales tax is a low, flat rate but they're going to r@pe me on property tax to make up for it.
In regard to the $750 coupon, I requested the 2012 brochure from the Ford site and marked the option that I'm going to buy in 0-30 days. Haven't received anything yet, but I'm hoping I will!
