Need opinion on stripe color
Need opinion on stripe color
So the rims that I have on my car in this photo I am having them powdercoated Gloss Black (long story short, the chrome lip on the rims came loose and were making horrible squeaking noise so I removed them)

I am going with the Saleen grille and CS fascia with Boss Splitter and probably something like the smoked Raxiom Halo headlights and I am wondering if you guys think gloss black stripes would look good on the Kona or a matte even though the rims will be gloss black.
I thought about a satin finish on the rims but it just looks to washed out and dirty compared to the gloss black.
So Matte or Gloss black stripes?
Thanks,
Chris

Yea the only problem with the Kona is that there arent too many stripe colors that look good on it. But I do absolutely love the look of black wheels with the kona. If you're definitely striping it I'd go a close shade to the color of the wheels. I'd really like to see pics after you go through with it. I've been trying to think of good looking stripes for that color.
Anybody still have that stripe painter web site? I can't remember it for the life of me but it would let you see your color with various color stripes (05-09 body style but would give you an idea) so you can decide.
I'd say something a little brighter, black or matte wouldn't look to hot in my opinion.

I know it's individual taste and all, but those wheels look fabulous the way they are.
3 outta 4 Camaros around here have after-market black wheels. I can understand them changing the OEM wheels because they're B O R I N G, but I haven't seen one yet that looks good with black.

Yeah I loved the wheels the way they were if they weren't made like s%^t. The chrome lip on them was a separate piece of metal that was almost snapped in and then rolled around the outer lip of the rim and they would squeak horrendously. That car show there, when I left a guy pulled up along side me and asked me what was wrong with the rims.. that was the last straw.
All I had to do was pry back the outer rolled edge a bit around 1/6th of the rim and the whole thing pulled right out. 2 rims and a small strip of silicone in there to "hold" it in and the others didn't.
So that left me with a very unfinished matte black lip and I was going to try to have just the lip painted gloss black but it was too much of a pain so I said screw it and I am getting them powder coated.
Maybe down the road when I get a 2015MY I will choose my new rims more wisely, but I am going to go the blacked out look on this Kona for now and possibly buy a 2013 5.0 this Summer and get a Brembo package or something.
Great, look forward to seeing the pics. Btw off topic, but how much did your guy charge for tinting, I'll be getting mine tinted soon, and this is the first car I'll have had tinted after buying it...just wondering what to expect give or take.
200ish if I recall correctly

Be sure to locate a window tinter that has an indoor shop. Stay away from outside or tent type window tinters. Outside dust and debris will get onto the windows as they tint them when it's done outside.
