Need a good shop in New Jersey
I should be taking delivery by mid to late February on my 2012 V6. I have digging around the web and this site getting an idea of all the mods I would like to do. Back in the day when I used to drive hot rod jalopies I always had a good mechanic and body guy for all my needs. That was 20 years ago and for the most part all my cars have been new or leased and didn't require anything other than a visit to the dealer or sears for brakes and tires.
Now that that I'm getting the mustang I will need a good shop for any of the mods I plan on doing. Anyone know a good shop in NJ that they could recommend for body mods and some lite mechanical stuff? I live up in Westfield NJ which is 20 minutes to staten island and 30 from englishtown/old bridge.

Hey dball, and welcome. I live not far from you in kenilworth and I wouldn't mind giving you a hand if it's something I can do. Otherwise, there's big daddy's performance in Lakewood, NJ. Also, there's a good shop ( from what I hear) in Englishtown called jdm. Good luck and enjoy modding your new car.

JDM or Big Daddys. I dealt with JDM and they do great work. They are known around the country and I have yet to hear anything bad about them besides the fact that they are a little pricey. But you pay for quality work.
Also JDM is right by the freehold mall, Big daddys is a bit further.

I've been looking for such a shop in NJ since 2008, I live about 20 min south of Westfield. I got lucky though, as my buddy installed a lift in his garage. You'd be surprised how easy it is to do mods once you have access to a lift. Anyway you can try the local NJ mustang forums, like NJSTANGERS, they always list local shops they've used.
Good Luck

I'm looking for a shop to mount and paint a spoiler and maybe put on some strips and decals.
There is a shop in Clark called J & E autobody. Not sure if you have heard of them but I was going to stop over there this week an see what they would charge to replace my stock spoiler with a gt500 3dcarbon wing.
I'm also considering some axle back exhaust work. Still waiting for the car to be delivered so I got time to look around.
Im not familiar with that body shop but I always use wheat's autobody on north ave on the border of garwood and westfield. Bruce is the owner, he does great work and uses basf glasurit paint. As for the exhaust I use meineke on 22 in mountainside for any muffler work or install if I'm too lazy or can't do it myself.
I know that place. There a few blocks from shoprite. I catch my morning bus over there. I will check them out. My car is getting built on Monday the 6th so only a few more weeks. I'm waiting on a sterling gray v6 premium pony package.
The waiting sucks but at least we have this site and Deysha

I've been using Mobile Concepts (North Ave in Garwood) for my audio, and I know they do a bunch of other stuff. Lou is the owner/does most of the work. Very knowledgeable, very friendly, very good to work with, lifetime warranty on everything. Check them out.
As far as mechanical, I'm going to try Bernie's Westbrant in Clark (intersection of Westfield Ave and Brant). Don't know what they do it terms of performance parts, but I'm going to be trying them out the next time I need server/oil change.
