Ok so last night at around 1 am i was going to my gf's place. She lives in an up and coming area of condos. There is still some construction going on, and there are a bunch of street lights not yet put in. I usually park in the same spot next to the road where there is no light so the car stays sort of hidden. So i was backing in and since it was dark (no street lights in the particular area) i did not notice the massive 5 inch curb they had just put in. I kept reversing as i normally would, didnt really hear anything, but it felt kinda of rough as i was backing in... i just assumed it was the dirt and gravel...but boy was i wrong.
Discovered this the next morning:

so yeah looks like im gunna need a new one

I scuffed the brembo wheel on my car the first week I had it, wasn't that bad, only about an inch long but it didn't make me happy to say the least, I talked to ford and long story short I ended up buying a new rim, eBay had individual brembo wheels at the time and scored one for about 300 plus shipping
Ouch. That sucks.
Since I still have a hard time grasping the car's dimensions, I just play it safe by taking super wide turns around curbs. When I parallel park, I'll stop, turn my right mirror down, then slowly back in. Better safe than sorry, I suppose

One of two features I really miss from my 2001 Acura 3.2 CL Type-S (a car produced a full decade before my 2011 stang).
Just the right/passenger mirror tilted, but that was all I needed to make sure I didn't scratch my rims while parking.
The other feature I miss is the integrated garage door opener. At least Ford fixed that on the 12's.

I'm sorry about your rim. You may not believe this but in Kosovo I've seen rims damaged far worst than this one repaired. MOF I hit a large rock on the way to work one morning and bent the rim on my Explorer so bad I was surprised it held air. Since I work in Kosovo, when I got there I dropped it off at a tire shop and they fixed it and it balanced up without a lot of weight. I'm still driving around with it.
