LOL you're crazy.

It's still not talking and I haven't had time to really mess with it. Tried opening the doors and all that still no speech. I took it to the dealer here and they didn't have a clue. One of the mechanics thought I was joking when I told him it was supposed to talk. The service manager said and I quote "We cannot make your car talk. You must buy some aftermarket stereo and radio with a speech chip" They gave me a ticket for a free car wash so it wasn't a total loss of time and nerves. Ya know, perhaps he is correct after all. Rip this crap trash out of the car and put in an aftermarket stereo.

Mine started doing this intermittently lately. Usually when I stop an start the car again it works fine. Im about done with sync anyway. When scosche drops the dash kit I'll be buying it and a DVD touch screen and the shaker 500 is gone.

Hi everyone, I'm from the In-Vehicle Technology Team. I can assist with SYNC and navigation questions!

Have you resolved your SYNC issue yet? I just want to confirm, you did perform a Master Reset right?

Feel free to PM me your VIN. I'd like to look into this and check for any available software updates.

CHDS PNY - Different media players do work better with SYNC than others. Here's a link to check out our tested media devices:

Thanks for jumping in the deep end. Yes, I did a Master Reset, and pulled the fuse trying to get it to come to life. If it matters I have a IPOD Classic 160 connected to the USB jack in the console and I use a IPhone. my vin is 1ZVBP8CF6B5113859

While waiting at a train crossing I started messing around with the NAV display and came across a menu that had valet and voice control and some other stuff. It also had a volume control for the Sync voice. The volume was set to it's lowest setting. I turned it up and Sync is now talking. I have no clue how it got turned down. I'm the only one driving the car and the only one with a key. Maybe the ghost of Mustang past, who knows. I'm just happy it's working.

I'm glad everything is working now. Lets hope the ghost of Mustang past stays in the past!

Let me know if anything comes up or if you have any additional questions.
