Would have been easier to post a link to the PDF for the owners manual then you wouldn't have to write all that out...

Had my '04 tank out to replace the fill tube grommet and tank was steel ... there was a black plastic "diaper" underneath it though, what it's purpose was I can only guess.

As I said, I started this list before my car arrived and just kept adding to it as I thought of things. What got me going was the fact that ABS, T-C, & Stability Control are now finally std as are a lot of other things now a days. Never cared for ABS, and certainly would never pay EXTRA for it ... interstingly Ford left it as an option all the way through the 2009 MY on the V6.

At one point my goal was to find 100 new features, next thing I know I'm close to 150 !!

Also was trying to rationalize the almost $8600 sticker price / $10k out-the-door difference between my '04 and this '11.

Just though of # 145 ...
Bottom of door skin that is not pinched tight to the door frame
(maybe reduces trapped moisure to slow down the usual rust that forms here after only a few harsh winters ??)

There really is a gel pad of some sort int the arm rest like one for your feet or something... quite the upgrade from the 05-09 hard plastic.

Also on the underside of that lid to the arm rest there's a lil clip labeled "CARDS" and a spot to hold a pen.

These Mustangs are really great!!! Nice list Doug. I'm patiently waiting for the release of an engine cover and a set of shorty headers. Did your 94, 98 and 04 cars come from the factory with shorty headers or did you add them yourself? Are you going to install shorty headers to your new Mustang?

All '94-04 V6 Mustangs came with 409 S.S. shorty headers (similar to factory 80's-up 5.0 shorties) ... there were aftermarket versions too, so there was obviously room for improvement, but hey they were factory headers.

Shorties for the 3.7L may be a bit tricky though. The existing cast iron logs are so short and the 1st set of cats are right there at the top ... really don't think there is enough room to do anything while keeping the stock catted x-pipe. The aftermarket can be pretty creative though, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks for pointing out the Pen holder, as I did not realize what it's purpose was ... guess that would be feature # 146 !!

The console lid on my '04 had a similar clip on the underside but it was for a travel pack of Kleenex, so this "cards" clip seemed pretty useless to me until I was looking for somewhere to stick the 'Sirius Radio Station List" which folded in half fit nicely between the card and "pen" holder.

The soft door armrests could be #147 as the armrests in both the '98 & '04 were just the thin padded skin of the door panel ... '94 had a separate insert that added a little more padding, but still was not a true separate padded arm rest like on this '11. However going to a separate padded armrest in 2005 allowed Ford to cheapen it up by eliminating the soft padding on the whole door panel ... this I do miss !!

Doug
