Pretty cool.. I paid 26K (before tax and title) and I see that used 2011 GT's are selling north of this based on a recent search of used GT's. What's the long term thought on the value of the 2011 -2014 GT?

Keep in mind that's an asking price, the cars likely are selling for less.

You can buy a brand new base GT for $26k-$27k if you look hard enough, so there's no way used ones are holding their value that well.

 

Yeah..we're going to see the value of used late model Mustangs drop a bit more since the new ones have such good deals.

Those that are looking at used rides in that price range will have no problem bumping up to something brand new for a bit more money.

You still got a great deal on your new ride though, not taking anything away from that. When I bought mine last fall the incentives were minimal, luckily I'm A-plan.

 

I glad I'm not the only one that thinks the price of the used '11's - '12's are too dayum high. I had the fleeting thought of buying a pre-owned just to fiddle with, but after seeing the asking prices I knew this wasn't going to happen. I'll wait until the '15's hit the lot, and see how the used prices go from there.

 

I wouldn't be looking for the '11-12's to magically drop when the 15s come out. There's too many folks that don't like the new one.

 

I paid $24,500 after tax and license for my Ford CPO '11 GT/CS. I see base '11-'12 GTs advertised for 26K and up all over SoCal.

It's pretty ridiculous.

 

When I traded in my 08 GT/CS for my 13 GT, the dealership had my 08 (70,000 miles) on the lot for 23k.

They can ask whatever they want. Doesn't mean they will get it.

Same dealer back in 08 had a Shelby KR in the showroom for 125k Lmfao
They sold it year later for 78k

 

When i traded my 2011 5.0 in march that dealer put $23995 on it and sold it in 3 weeks. It had 22000 miles on it.

 

That's way too high for an 11. I'd sell my perfect GHIG Premium GT with 3800 miles for $27k & I'd consider that just an OK deal !! Scott

 

The values for the 11 GT are pretty good. I had checked Edmunds to see what my wife's was worth with 98k on it. The Nav and glass roof added to the bottom line, which was 19.5 trade in, 21.5 private sale and 23.5k dealer retail. Nice!

 

Book values are almost useless, since the dealer will always just pull printouts of what's actually for sale.

Edmunds is usually way, way high - my '13 Jetta that I traded on the Mustang stickered for $26.3k, I paid $24.5k (already below invoice, not much markup on VWs like domestics), drove it for a year and put 18,300 miles on it and Edmunds said my trade value was like $21k.

Meanwhile VW dealers in the area were advertising certified '13s in the same trim with half the miles for just over $19k. In the end with the tax savings on the new car by trading (only pay sales tax on difference between new car and trade), I got the same as selling the car privately for $18.5k, so I couldn't complain (I was given KBB high trade value). My dealer has been trying to sell my car for $20k flat for six weeks now...good luck.

Oh, I have no illusions at all that I'll buy one. It was just a little dream. One thing though, it's good to see they do hold value.

 

Even high mile 5.0's are holding their value.
