We'll have to agree to disagree; I know how pieces like that change the shape of the air over and around the vehicle because I've performed wind-tunnel tests on all kinds of things in my job. You'd be surprised how much difference something like that can make.

Now this, I will agree with. I will have a back seat in my Shelby, and it will almost certainly never be used by a human's backside. I've considered removing it, but the weight distribution is already heavily toward the front: if I lose anymore weight out of the back, I'll burn out at every stoplight just by letting the clutch off.
