mustang vs camaro sales for june
http://www.autoobserver.com/2010/07/...et-camaro.html
The new Ford Mustang is gaining on the Chevrolet Camaro for sales.
The Mustang overtook the Camaro in June. The Camaro's percentage decline in June was nearly the amount that Mustang gained in sales.
But the Camaro remain significantly ahead of Mustang for the first six months of the year.
In June, Ford sold 8,974 Mustangs, which include the new version. That was a nearly 18-percent increase from June 2009.
General Motors sold 7,540 Camaro models in June, a 19-percent decline from a year ago.
The half-time score is 46,378 Camaro models sold to 40,035 Mustangs, making it one of the races to watch for 2010.

Mustang may have lagged due to lack of inventory. Most of the first half of June didn't have many Mustangs finding their way to the lots.
I went by the Chevy dealer yesterday and they had NINE Camaros out front. This is a pretty small dealer. They had about 5 'vettes too. Had to give them credit for having one of almost every color available but that weird super hero green or whatever it is just doesn't do much for me.

I'm sure the Camaro boys will be yakking about how it's only because the Mustang is the 'big news' currently... while they conveniently forget that the reason the Camaro had big numbers was because IT was the big news.

Most dealers have been nearly out of new Mustang for awhile with just a small sprinkling of leftover 10's while waiting for the 11's. I personally stopped ordering new 10's last fall to wind down inventory in preparation for the 11's.
We've received nine (9) 2011 Mustangs so far: 1 GT500 (sold & gone), 5 GT's (4 sold & gone), and 3 V6's (all 3 still here and available).
We sold and delivered 3 Mustangs yesterday alone. Mustang will catch and surpass Camaro YTD by the end of July, IMO.
