Mustang Season Woes-Code P0305
So I decide to go out for a Saturday cruise about ten minutes ago and what do I see? A check engine light. Rough idle and lack of power. I pull the code and I get a P0305 code
OBD II Fault Code
OBD II P0305
Fault Code Definition
Misfire Detected in #5 Cylinder
Symptoms
Check Engine Light flashing
Rough running, hesitation, and/or jerking when accelerating
In most cases, there are no adverse conditions noticed by the driver
In some cases, there may be performance problems, such as dying at stop signs or rough idling, hesitation, misfires or lack of power (especially during acceleration), and a decrease in fuel economy
Common Problems That Trigger the P0305
Worn out spark plugs, ignition wires, coil(s), distributor cap and rotor (when applicable)
Incorrect ignition timing
Vacuum leak(s)
Low or weak fuel pressure
Improperly functioning EGR system
Defective Mass Air Flow Sensor
Defective Crankshaft and/or Camshaft Sensor
Defective Throttle Position Sensor
Mechanical engine problems (i.e.—low compression, leaking head gasket(s), or valve problems
Anybody run into this? *sigh*

Well after some investigation (See the critter thread) I found this and several other chewed wires going to the injectors.
I'm beaten down at this point and don't know what to do. The only good thing is my critter problem is gone for now. This must have happened initially when I first battled them. *double sigh*

OK so a long story to this whole ordeal and dealing with the Ford dealer. It's part of my luck with cars (I could write a book) like parts being painted the wrong color and ... well it's a long list. I won't bore you with it now.
Anyway, they have a new harness and firewall padding coming in so I should get it back in factory condition. No dropping of transmissions etc. I should have her back by the end of next week. They're even going to paint the strut brace for me.

Thanks. I want to start modding soon but didn't even feel like it until this gets settled.
I think I'm going to get a refund on my extendo warranty and have some real fun with the car.

Still waiting. The padding came in late last week. The body shop manager told me that they finally got a "good one" in, whatever that means. He said it should be done first of the week. Can't wait to inspect it to make sure they didn't hack anything on it.
I feel like the shine is off this one and time to get me some mods and a tune.
