+1, I was thinking that'd be real nice front end for the current Focus.

I agree actually. That would be much better than the current schnoz, sans the pony in the grille of course.

Its a good looking Focus. Add a 250hp GDI 4 Banger and it would be hot!

All I added was the new edge Mustang's grille and side scoops, plus a little lowering. The headlights are untouched. I was inspired to try this because the new '09 Focus front bumper reminded me of the Terminator Cobra a bit. See , the Focus ain't bad....

Even though everybody and their mom complains about the new Focus, it's styling fits right in with rest of the "New Edge" Fords like the 2004 Mustang. Hmm, makes me wonder if they started working on this design back around the same time as the previous gen Mustang.

More interesting points:

Focus:
L:175"
w: 67.9"
h: 58.6"
man. trans weight: 2588

'65 Mustang:

L: 181.6"
w: 68.2"
H: 51.2"

weight: hardtop :2556 fastback 2606

The Focus is the about the same width as the original Mustang, but 6 inches shorter, about the same weight. Hmm... reskin the next Focus chassis as a Mustang but with AWD instead of FWD??? It could be global! Imagine, the Mustang in WRC!

Why not have a 2010 GT and GT E for EcoBoost?

I already have one.....it's called the Mustang SVO......Modified, More RWHP than the new GT, over 1,000 lbs less weight and 29mpg Hwy "IF" I just cruise and keep my foot out of it . Most of us with SVO's are getting great economy when cruising but have the power on tap if needed . We always said the SVO was ahead of it's time.

Mine's coming back into driver status with these fuel prices.....currently undergoing another Turbo Upgrade....

You CAN make power and have gas mileage too.....

Thanks! I didn't realize but I don't have any current or recent shots of the engine....this one is about 7 years old now and the red hose & silver bracket for the Vane meter was temporary but lots of things have changed in 7 years. I'd go out in the showroom and take a picture but the Turbo is off it right now as I am changing things again and upgrading to a larger .63 exhaust housing and changing the front housing out for something that better clears the A/C compressor than the T4 X housing I was running. These cars are NEVER finished it seems...despite best intentions of saying we are done.

What's the city gas mileage like? I have gotten as high as 28 mpg on the highway in my '06 GT by cruising at 60mph and ~24mpg if I do 80-85 mph on the highway.

Thank you for that Paul!

I did read something about a showroom. Is that where you house your collection?

Somebody should build an S197 version of the SVO. Take one V6 S197 Mustang, add the 2.3 Duratec and manual trans from the Ranger, add a turbo and upgrade the suspension....

Vermillion06, don't give me ideas.

Get an engine from Cosworth or something. So cool.

Of course these numbers are keeping your foot out of it but the best ive seen was 32mpg Hwy and 26 City type driving....being aware that I was trying to maximize mileage. It's all about staying out of boost which really isn't difficult unless someone decide they want to test you The 32mpg was prior to the major modifications I made and since then I got the 29mpg...but I wasn't really trying for mileage there it was just a comfortable cruising speed between 75-80mph on a trip down to Florida a while back for a car show.

The showroom is in the shop and can hold 4 cars....it is not finished as I still have to do some wall finishing and floor tile and I keep some other cars in another building a friend owns but storage space is one area I am really lacking right now.
