Mustang and Forgestar wheels?

Hi Fellow Stangers,

13GT with 27K miles. During my last visit to the dealership (new battery), they were inspecting brakes & tires as well. Here's what it said on the invoice.
-------------------------
Inspect Brakes:
Inspected brakes and brake linings measured at or above 50% remaining.

Inspect Tires:
Inspected tires and tire tread at 2mm or less.
Need Immediate Attention.

Looks like I'm in the market for tires... AND wheels
So what is it with Mustangs and Forgestars (F14's) that makes such a popular combo? (My interest were originally HRE wheels but would you look at the price tag lol.) I know they are lightweight, made in usa (some say they are made in mexico now?) but is it the quality vs price. Just what makes them so popular, and why? Should I get these too...?

I think it is basically the combination of light weight, good quality, and reasonable price.

Plus they are available in the right offsets to put wide wheels under our cars. Vorschlag is perhaps the best source for fitment advice, and wheels that will work, if you want to go 10" or wider on the wheels.

Forgestar 19x10 19x11 CF5V

For me it was first of all the look of the wheel, then apparent quality or perceived initial quality versus price, and like he said above the ability to get 10" wheel up front and an 11" wheel out back with proper offsets.

I think they hit the sweet spot of price and quality. The look is very good too. When it comes to most performance items, it seems the difference between a great product and and and exceptional one might be 10%. The difference in price is closer to 40%. The cost benefit analyzes or as my friends put it , penny pinchers, can't spend the extra money if the results aren't there. That said, I like the forgestars myself.

I see I see. They DO look pretty nice heh. I've seen quite a few Velgen wheels too but these Forgestars look just 'right' with our cars IMO. And Brian, your car looks amazing! We ought to meet up someday yeah?

Yep, we should gather some more locals and go for a drive.

Wait, I can have 19X10 wheels with no rubbing issues on the FRONT? How come I didn't know this sooner?

What offset doe that require? Got any pictures of the clearances?

I noticed you have the Corsa quads. You loving the Corsas? You have the sports right?

I love my Extremes. Just thought I'd give props to another Corsa'er.

Light, wide, look good, fair price. What more could you ask for?

I will agree with that.
I think the Forgestars blow the Velgen wheels away.

You mean your Service Advisor didn't approach you about buying some tires?
Very poor performance on his/her part ... that's something they should've at least mentioned to you, not let you discover it on your own on the invoice.

I was a Ford Service Advisor for almost 10 years, and I would've at least "planted the seed" about you needing some new tires very soon, hoping you'd buy them from me, especially $400-$500 tires (each!)

Now, Forgestar does make some really good looking wheels with some really cool fitments ... I've heard a lot about them having paint/finish issues though ... is that still going on ?

.

Sizes for Staggered Setup

So guys. I went to the shop and got 6-8 weeks estimate wait time. Apparently, these are fully(?) custom-made wheels just for my car (I like the sound of that) heh.

Got a recommendation for a Staggered Setup btw, something about avoiding the oversteer. I always wanted beefy end for these rear-drive muscle cars anyways, only concern is the ability to rotate, but hmm? Here is the suggested sizes I got from the shop:
---------------------------------
19x9.5 et35 with 275/30/19
19x11 et55 with 295/30/19

Since I'm doing the Staggered, I want to go AS WIDE AS possible... without compromising the obvious. What Size would be the 'perfect fitting' for our cars?

275 and 295/30/19 is an awfully short tire.

I have 275/35/19 and 305/35/19 with Nitto NT05s and they are shorter than stock but not so much that it looks odd to me.

I think a 30 ratio side wall is just to short for that IMHO

I got rid of my P-Zeros at 25K miles. Just not that good of a tire. They were badly cupped and the car sounded like I was riding on super swampers going down the road. Replaced mine with Firehawk all seasons but kept my factory black wheels because I just like them a lot and have no desire to get rid of them. I hadn't heard of Foregstars but they look pretty nice.

I guess they are sports. Definitely not extremes.

Got them because they were black tips and corsas are known for no drone.

They are a bit quiet.

You'd love the extremes then. I love mine. Corsa just released/will be releasing extremes in quads. I suggest you look into those. You'd be very pleased.

No need to wait 6 weeks, www.americanmuscle.com has all the sizes and finishes in stock, along with lower prices.
