MT-82 popping while going in reverse

MT-82 popping while going in reverse
I have 8k on the odometer and the shifter is starting to make this pop/snapping sound when going into reverse. Not so much as when it is engaging in the gear but when I move the shifter over and up it does this.
Normal to anyone else? Or has shift bracket crapped out?
I have the SR bracket that I haven't installed yet..

Just when going over. It will go over a little but not shift in reverse then I have to push a little harder then I get this loud snap/pop sound and then it goes in reverse.
