I give up. I just don't get it. If the intent is to use these numbers for comparison while shopping, then they need to dyno the Camaro SS and V6 in 3rd and 4th gear as well to get a more consistent comparison. As consistent as can be with dynos, which has been discussed at length in the other dyno thread.

just was reading this i love the last paragraph

Of course, the best news we discovered on Friday we can only hint at. We believe those dyno figures just have to be accurate, given the outrageous numbers these two 'Stangs threw down at our test track. But you'll have to check back with us bright and early Monday morning to find those out...

Well, apparently their track numbers back up what they found at the dyno.

If that is the case, then mid 13's for the V6 and low 12's for the 5.0 should be in order...

with the power to weight i show roughly a 13.7 or 13.6 for the v6, and 12.3-12.5 for the gt

again with great traction of course

Don't know what calculator you are using or what weight for the car you are using, but this calculator, http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/619.shtml , shows the E.T. for the 5.0 with a weight of 3700 (with 200 lb driver) and 435 HP as 11.89 @ 114.6!

V6 car would be 13.43 @ 102.17...

Be pretty cool if those were right!

It has to be bumping up against the speed limiter.

As soon as a tuner gets ahold of it and removes the limit maybe then we will get a full fifth gear pull.

that calculator you have is for wheel horsepower, not flywheel horsepower.

common sense

here put in the same numbers to this page

http://robrobinette.com/et.htm

and you will see if you check the real wheel horsepower button with the numbers you are putting in, you'll get the same results, check flywheel and bam, more realistic

I'm just giddy right now.

I remember looking forward to the Camaro reviews after all the hype and anticipation, and despite my last three cars being Mustang GTs, I was actually considering a Camaro... until the reviews came out, and the car seemed somewhat underwhelming overall - powerful, solid, and fast, yes, but so many low-to-mediocre qualities too; such as being too heavy and too big, poor outward visibility, relatively cheap interior, quality control issues, etc. Possibly nitpicks, but still, a little less great than anticipated.

On the other hand, I'm anticipating the 2011 Mustang reviews even more, and this one here is saying the car is better than expected!

I'm pretty sure you can get a GT into the 11s with minimal mods. Biggest issue I see is traction.

So, If the GT is putting out numbers like this and its still around 150 - 200 lbs lighter than the GT-500 what do you think the GT-500 is going to throw down on the rollers and 1320'?
