Nice to finally see the auto shifter! I like it much better than the Atari joystick. This may in fact be a nice retrofit.

They fixed every single fault I ever found with the interior and added all of the characteristics of design, materials and finishes that impressed me after living with a 2007 VW GTI in my household for a year.

I always try to park next to a cart corral. I figure,if i'm next to a corral,i'm pretty safe, whoever puts their cart away is thoughtful enough to return it to the corral, instead of just leaving it out in the parking lot like a POS,a thoughful person would place it in the corral properly instead of hurling it in(that would be a cart-leaver attitude),and those cart-leavers wouldn't bother to walk it to the corral anyway. They're repulsed by the corral, because it represents being a responsible adult so cart-leavers aren't anywhere near a corral.
Also, parking far away from anybody and corrals is another option because a cart-leaver is a lazy POS that circles the lot for 10-15 minutes to find a space close,so you know the pieces of garbage won't take the time to walk that cart to a corral,so stray buggies are usually close to the store, but then you have to worry about the wind carrying it out from the front.

You've apparently never saw the kid who wants to see how far away he can push the buggy and it still make it in the corral

Yeah, there's that, only my example is a middle-aged woman, after she gave it a shove from across the aisle, she noticed me standing, getting out of '99 Mustang, embarrassed, she said "you're brave for parking that pretty car next to the corral",and i called her an idiot for pushing her cart from across the aisle.
The cars just aren't safe anywhere, but i'll take my chances next to the corral, maybe if i had the Batmobile, then i could park my *** wherever i please.

Don't you dare Saturnize that car.

Oh, and don't park next to the cart corral. Come on. That's not too bright.

My rule is always park far away and walk... I don't mind walking. I pride myself anyway on the fact that I don't need to obsessively circle a parking lot just to get a close space. By the time it takes for most idiots find a good space they could have been in the store already if they parked and walked from a more distant parking space.

It is interesting for me to recognize that the GT was in Meijers and not a Wal-Mart. I have family in St. Clair and it is interesting when I visit I go to places to shop I never see down here in North Carolina.

I boosted the contrast of this image. It might help a little.

I don't see a) paddle shifters or b) a manumatic shiftgate. Guessing we will get one of the two options in 2011?
