Montreal Ponies get his 5.0

Well, I just got back from a 20 hour road trip accompanying Montreal Ponies on his drive from Montreal to Rochester and back today to pick up his new 5.0. In brief summary, we left Montreal at 3AM this morning, picked up the car, breezed through customs, and made it back to his place for 9:30 tonight after some 775 miles of driving.

He'll chime in tomorrow after he gets some needed sleep. In the meantime I can take care of the obligatory pics part of the thread.

The trip went incredibly smoothly. We missed all the spotty weather, things went smoothly at the dealership, and there was NO ONE to line up behind at the border. Dan still has a few hoops to jump through (the dealer wasn't able to figure out how to turn on the DRL's, so it still needs to be done). But things should get sorted out fairly easily.

I also got to meet Paul at Van Bortel. If everything works out, I'll be picking my own car there next Spring.

By the way Paul, we did find the wheel locks in the spare tire well as you had suggested.

That thing is badass, congrats. You'll love the glass roof. Nice and classy looking combo of options/color.

If that's Montreal Ponies in that pic he looks JUST LIKE PHIL HELLMUTH.

LOL he does look like hellmuth - nice car.

I would be real interested in your dyno results as to see if the straight from the dealer to the highway road trip had any effect on the ring seal.

Congrats...

As a cdn...wondering about a few things...

-why buy in states?
-were there many import issues?
-even with exchange (.9657 as of today) does it work out cheaper?
-guessing the speedo big numbers are in miles....?
