Just passing along info for anyone interested as its a pretty excellent deal considering normal pricing is more like $9-10/qt. the AAA 10% discount did not apply for it since its on sale but 9 quarts for $54 is not bad!!

Much as I hate to ever tell anyone to go to Walmart, their regular price on Mobil 1 and Castrol Edge w/ Syntec Technology is pretty fantastic. I paid $22.95 for a 5 quart jug of the Castrol, which is regularly $7 or 8 a quart at the parts store.

Yup, walmart just recently rolled back the pricing on mobil1 big jugs and the quarts are like $6.79. Bought mine there and went down the street to autozone to get my motorcraft filter for $6, that walmart doesn't stock.

No 5w50 at Walmart from what I can tell... they have lots of 5w20 options though (if you're non-track pack GT)

I agree though that Walmart is a fantastic place to buy lots of types of oil in the 4 or 5 quart jugs... if only they had 5w50!!

My local walmart has the 5w50 in quarts, wasn't paying attention to the big jugs in that weight but the 5w50 was mixed in with the 5w20 when I was buying mine.

My Ford Quick Lane service manager commited to selling me the "Works" service for the advertised price of $47.95, eventhough my GT's a TP. He also gave me the option of choosing Motorcraft or Mobil 1, knowing that I always use Motorcraft.

Had my oil changed in my F250 powerstroke today at the nearest quick lane and asked the guy about doing a full synthetic change on GT's.

They are CRAZY there, he told me that the filter and oil would run me about $110 and they would charge me $25 labor to do the change!!!

Said that they get about $15 a quart for Mobil 1!

Told him walmart sold it for less than $7 a quart and he just shrugged.

They did have a major league sweet deal on diesel oil changes though, if you buy them ahead of time, 4 changes at a time, they will do it for $194 total. So I went for that deal, have three more changes to go now at about half of what it costs for a one time change. I put about 2500 miles a week on my truck so about every three weeks I'll go back and get it changed.

I take time off every once in a while.

And heck, 2500 miles is only 4 days a week, off 3 days.

I haul new travel trailers from the manufacturer to the dealers.

I used to move Budget rental trucks nationwide. It was nothing for me to drive 3000 to 4000 per week (7 days). So, I can sympathize with you there.

The service manager said they now buy their oils in bulk, so they get a cut in price. But still yet, the "Works" consists of tire rotation too. No way Quick Lane is making any money at $47.95. They also give out punch cards that offer the 6th oil change for free. (Buy 5, get the next one free. Diesels excluded.)

My 2006 F-250 Powerstroke 4x4 service used to cost me $69.95. But, that was back in 2006-2007. I thought that was fairly cheap too.

Every quick lane lube center is a little different on their specials and promo offers. That particular one is the only place my pre-paid oil change deal is good at and it's just the oil change with motorcraft oil/filter and no tire rotation.

They also do a standard car oil change deal, 4 changes for $89 I believe.
