3D Carbon Gt500 Rear Spoiler-Need some info fast!

I purchased a 3D Carbon GT500 rear spoiler for my 2013 Mustang, my car came with the factory spoiler and I received my spoiler today from 3D Carbon and it should be very simple since I dont have to drill any holes but removing the old factory spoiler has become a challenge in itself, any suggestions?

Any info is appreciated.

Man, it's too bad all the paid Mustang Source people were asleep at the wheel today. But I'm sure everyone will be eager to help you in the future, with great responses like this.

If you already have a factory spoiler... With holes drilled, then throw those plastic t strips away. They are guides for people who have to drill.

Your challenge is not the instal, it's getting the old one off. Search the threads and do it correctly or you could trash your paint with scratches.

Yea those t-clips are a waste and as you said removing the old spoiler is the trick, I have yet to get it off because I am afraid of scratching my trunk lid, any suggestions?

You have to put painters tape around the entire wing so you don't scratch the decklid. Search gt500 spoiler instal.

Wow, just wow. Are you part of the entitled generation? Surprised anyone chimed in on this one. Guess they felt bad for not answering earlier while they were out enjoying time with their families or rides on a Saturday.

Have fun with the uninstalled of the OEM spoiler. I had a hell of a time getting mine off.

Oh and you should try to be nicer to people. Just sayin.

Better version: fishing line. No damage to paint or surrounding area that a spatula would.

This. I tried for 2 hours to get it with fishing line and no luck. Finally ended up prying it up using tools that were never suppose to touch car paint

After the OP's earlier comment, I'm not sure she meant for him to use the spatula on the spoiler.

Did OP post on a Saturday and expect immediate service? most of us are either under our cars or riding the hell out of them on a Saturday.

Sorry we were slow to respond, your refund check is in the mail....

and yes, I agree: diva has likely concocted a new method to use the spatula for the OP!

If you lift the trunk up and then soak the sticky parts with GooGone for around 30 minutes sometimes things just come right off or it lets the fishing line get through a ton easier. That's how I do it.
