MM&FF 2011 5.0L track test

Got home from picking up the new GT and there in the mailbox was the July issue of MM&FF with the new 5 liter track test on the cover. Quickly flipped to page 40 and could't put it down. I do not know if I mis read, but it I think there's a typo where there's a reference of the 5.0 to a V-6? Also read there's a one touch start feature? I gotta read the owners manual more.

Evan Smith's review was right on, plenty of torque down low but above 4000rpm "the 5.0 is a pure animal", (I would have said animal rpm was 3000, but he's a pro).

He ran a 3.73, CS, on stock tires to 12.69 @ 112.49 with a 2.00 60' time. When they put the M/T stickies on, and got the launch rpms dialed in, he ran a 12.342 at 110.77 with a 1.758 60' time with daylight under the front tire.

Wonder what the 6 speed manual 5.0 convertible runs?
I would also like to know what an automatic 5.0 hardtop runs?

Nice. Our Mustangs (G.T. and V-6) have the one touch key. When you turn the key to the crank position you can let the pressure off the key and it will automatically keep cranking until the engine starts.

My 2008 Ram has the same feature, and I like it a lot. Only issue I've had is when I get in a car that doesn't have it, I forget to hold the silly key! LOL.

Sweet! I wish he would have had a base with 3.73s and brembo pkg only, but oh well still great times! AND PLENTY OF TORQUE DOWN LOW
