Microphone for Hands Free Audio

All,

I have a ’12 GT and the audio quality on the hands-free system appears to be degrading. When I purchased the vehicle I never received complaints about the quality of the connection. Recently I have been told that I sound like I am in the trunk.

The car was in the shop for routine maintenance and the “Sync” guy looked at it. He stated it was working correctly. However, due to my insistence he replaced the rear view mirror with the integrated MIC. There was no change to the audio quality.

Is anyone having similar issues?

My Dad had a similar issue in his F350, I could hardly hear him.

He changed from a samsung phone to an i-phone and now it sounds like he is talking directly into the phone.

My two Samsungs work great. Had two LG's before, one was good, the other bad. Try a friends phone and see if it is the car or the phone....then you have a bit of a direction to go with the fix.

You know my galaxy nexus is kinda funky with audio quality too. I think its got a ambient noise reduction filter. Or its my exhaust...

Hi, brettlewisn -

I'm sure the SYNC specialist looked, but just in case, I recommend checking for an available SYNC software update here:

Which phone are you using and who's the carrier? Have you tried pairing another phone to see if the issue can be duplicated?
