I just installed the shifter in my 12 GT and it is hard (impossible sometimes) to shift into 1st, and im unable most of the time to shift into 2nd under a heavy load. I never had this problem before.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm about to just rip it off and put the stock assembly back on. I'm really frustrated that I spent so much money and worked hard on the install and its worse.

There should be something wrong with installation or a missing part. MGW shifter is one of the best in the market and I don't think you have wasted your money.

I'm sure experts will be here soon to help. Good luck with the issue.

Maybe the stiff mount is causing the shifter to stay rock solid with the body during high torque and rpm. Could be that with the stock shifter at least it would tilt with the transmission a little and enable the shifts to complete. just guessing.

I'm adding motor mounts to reduce this at the origin, motor radial displacement under load - same thing with the CHE torque limiter things do. http://www.cheperformance.com/prod-204.htm

Cool. Those guys at MGW are always on point. I had a problem with mine and it was resolved easily and quickly. Those guys really do their homework before they release a product. That's why it took so long for them to have a shifter ready for sale on the new transmissions.

I too was thinking of installing this same part, however in the Boss forum I posted too several folks chimed in on the thread, including a speed shop. They did *not* recommend spending the money on this setup. There are many other alternatives to decrease the deflection caused by the engine torquing during high RPM shifting (trans mount, engine mounts, as you are doing). The 'ears' on the transmission are not designed to handle the torsional loads, and there have been reports of the aluminum housing cracking or snapping off 'ears'.

I was wondering if those points on the tranny could handle that force

Its on the upper portion, on the black section under the gold section. Pointing to the left (kind of towards you and to the left in this pic)

I assume the way it's oriented in the picture is the correct way.

Yep. Reverse lockout is the black portion sticking up that the pin will come in contact with when the shifter is pushed to the left
