Message Center question ...

I'm wondering if either the Message Center or the Stereo Display shows OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE.

Looked thru a 2005 & 2010 Owners Manuals on the Ford site and see no reference to outside temp.

I've put Donelly EC Mirrors w/ compass & temp in all my cars since 1996 and the OUTSIDE TEMP display has become pretty important to me especially during winter.

The 2011 Mustang "Premium" will have the EC Mirror std. and Compass is built into the Stereo Display, however I see no mention of Outside Temp anywhere.

Thanks,

Doug

2010 Brochure shows the Comfort pkg. had the auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass but no mention of a Temp display.

2011 the Auto-Dimming Mirror is now std. equipment in the Premium level V6/GT rather than part of the Comfort pkg ... once again, no mention of a temp display.

No display on the 2006, and probably not the 2005 to 2009 model years.

Yes it's part of the GT premium package. Rather than being in the mirror- comfort package. It's in the radio display. (non navigation). The outside temp is in the far right lower corner and the direction you're heading is on the far left lower corner. I couldn't find a picture, but for reference there's the pic of the stang's center console and one of the 2010 Fusion. where the temp/direction are in that screen is the same where they are for the mustang. SO you still get the temp/direction without the comfort pack.

Well that is certainly a relief ... I was 99% sure this was the case but to not see it mentioned in the manual made me kind of nervous.

I found & read thru the whole 2010 manual on Ford's web site to try and get somewhat familiar with the many new features that my 2004 does not have.

I test drove a '10 GT 5M with nav and I had no idea of how to do much of anything other than drive the darn thing !! I was having a ball "just driving" so I had no reason to want to turn on the radio, climate control, or play with the mesage center but it was just the fact that I was dumbfounded as to where to even start !!

FYI ...

I just found the 2010 order guide dated 10/30/08 I had printed off probably late in 2008 and it states under ...

NEW INTERIOR CHANGES:
"Compass and Outside Temperature in Center Display"

So I guess it is now actually STANDARD on all Mustangs not just the Premium models.
