Mecum auto auction
IIRC, he went to buy a Boss and the dealer had no idea it was 0001. He made his deal, and went off with it. He didn't realize it was THE #1 until he got home, then got all kinds of huge offers for it, but said he ultimately just wanted a drivable Boss that he didn't have to worry about. I want to say he traded another owner for #333 or something like that, and then ended up selling that too.
#1 carries a "collector's premium" in the after-market. Most of those cars are never driven ......more like "expensive stamp collecting." Not my thing, but a lot of people do it.
